This laser is almost an exact copy of my first build. Mine is in the Sky Ray host and outputs 1733mW power the last time I measured it. My question is why is the copper module not flush with the heat sink? You need to sink off as much heat as possible from the module, and with part of it outside the host's heat sink, I am guessing that some of the heat you could be sinking is still at the diode. Mine is flush with the heat sink and it needs to adhere to a 60 sec duty cycle or the heat sink begins to get hot. Also, the set screw is set up to be at a level where the diode is when the module is flush with the heat sink. Just some thoughts as my Sky Ray is over a year old now.
