Hey Daedal,

How many units have been accounted for? I may be interested in one, but I won't know if I will have the funds until around the 10th or so. So don't put me on the list just yet, I was just wondering if you had 8 or 9 confirmed and were going to go ahead and order 10 and let the orders fill themselves.

Also, does the data logging feature only work on PCs?

Well... Including myself and TL, there's 9 sold so far. The order will be going in for 10 tomorrow or after tomorrow unless people are in fact waiting until the last minute. I can not order more than 10 of these if they are not already sold. I am personally taking a big risk as these meters cost me exactly as much as they are priced on here. I am not getting them at any special price other than Tony's generous discount, so if we fill 10 orders within the next couple of days, I'm sorry to say that people would have to pay to have their order in. As of right now I am paying for 3 units on my own to fill the quota :-[ :-/ :'(

I honestly expected for there to be much more interest in these as these are the best out there!

I remember reading someone trying this meter on a Mac. But I do not think that it matters as the data is being exported in RS232(C) format, which is universal all the way down to microchips and up to super computers (if they do have these ports ;D). I do know that you have to buy the Mac version of HyperTerminal for $8 or so to get free access to the RS232 port, this comes for free on Windows and Linux. Maybe there is a free version of something out there that will let you use it, but I do not use a Mac, so I wouldn't know, sorry. :-[

I'm hoping the extra meter will not be sitting pretty for too long ::)

Thanks for the info, Daedal! That sucks that you are going to have to buy 3 meters with your own money though. Hopefully you can find them nice homes. :)

As far as the data logging goes, I was just curious. If I get a meter I don't think I'll be able to get a data cable, and I don't really need to plot output graphs and such.

Unless it's a unanimous vote, I can't go on with delaying the order.
Also, I can't put in an order for 10 of them and then ask Tony to add a couple extra... :-/ He buys the parts as needed and that's why there is the 30-day wait.

I'm just going to send the order in tomorrow for 10 of them, or maybe on Tuesday since Monday is Labor Day (which is a holiday). That leaves one more to be ordered or sold eventually. My guess is that I'm going to give it 2 weeks for this to sell... otherwise I'll just list it on eBay and hope it sells :)

Only a few weeks more and we'll have our meters now :D The wait is shrinking steadily ;) ;D

Sound like a fine plan, Daedal !

In worst case scenario (which i doubt) and list the remaining 1 on ebay,. it for sure will sell for at least 200 $. since it new, and includes a free lifetime support guarrantee ! :cool: (LPF forum link for instant help :D)

There is no reason to delay the order. Timelord said he would buy one and pseudo said if you get stuck he would by one. Thank you pseudo.. :) This means all ten are sold or committed to... :)

Update:

Alright people... The order will be going in tonight for a fact. I have just gotten an order from a CPF member earlier today and I am waiting for a member from here to make sure how the payment will be arranged.

Good news Daedal...thank you. If you can please give us an update as to the progress Tony has made in a couple of weeks. I am getting anxious and I am sure everyone else is too.. ;D I sure am happy I am in on this deal...thanks again ;)

I can't wait to lay my hand on this Superfine laser meter. Finally, in a month time, I will be able to precisely measure my laser output power :)

Oh, thank you Aseras very much for your kind offer. Although, the order is already in for 11 units... :D

Right before checking the forum I got a reply from Tony... it's quite unfortunate... :-[ But here's a little update:
Mo-

I have checked my inventory and the suppliers, and have found there are parts on backorder. The backorder will cause an additional 2 week delay in the delivery, as long as the parts ship when the vendor says they will (usually pretty good). So I don't want to commit to a delivery date of less than 6 weeks, which is October 18. :^( I'll do my best to process your order as quickly as possible, and will keep you posted.

I'm very sorry guys, but there is honestly nothing anyone can do as this is an unforeseen delay. :-/

I'll keep you all updated and will let you all know as soon as something new comes up.
