Hello everyone!
I would like to buy a 200mW green laser to use it only in open areas , like sky ,at night. This version have a LI-ION acumulator Ultrafire 2400 mAh 18650 type ( clasic ) .
It's safe to look at the beam? I mean , there are like 10-15 people around me and I don't want to damage our eyes.
This laser I'll use for presenting constellations.
Do I need to buy glasses ?
Sorry for my bad speaking but I'm not a native speaker of English .
Thank you for replies. :yh:

ps.: Tell me ,please, if a 500mW laser it's safe to use it outside without glasses. Thank you !

The 200mW Laser should work fine for stargazing and similar activities. Looking at the beam in the sky is perfectly fine with this output power, and it should be very visible in the sky. Safety glasses would not be necessary as the viewers are not looking at a dot or reflection of the dot on a surface, but just the beam. And even if it is shined on a surface such as grass, bricks etc. then the chances of permanent eye damage are very low for a 200mW. (If it is a somewhat reflective surface like tiles, and the laser is at the right angle and you shine it at them, the reflection could be dangerous though.)

A 500mW laser would be overkill for this application, although the beam should still be fine to look at. Shining it at things glass or bricks could have a risk of permanent eye damage, although it's rather unlikely, but still a risk. Otherwise it is safe for looking at the beams. Heck, there are some industrial laser shows that use over 60W lasers for the beams (that's 60000mW) and it's had no injuries from looking at the beam.

Thanks for posting :)

Edit: misspelt 'grass' with 'glass'. One letter makes a big difference ;)
