I'm confused as to why the "Saber Style" Spiker is $70 less than the regular Spiker, and when both are spec'd to 5W 445nm, the Saber Style is still $10 cheaper.

That math doesn't make a whole lot of sense when the saber style seems to use more raw material.

Podo, can you shed some light for me here?

The saber style uses less raw material. Rather than being 2x26650 it is 2x18650. This means that the battery tube volume is much smaller.

thanks sta:beer:

The base price listed for the spiker laser is a 3W 445nm meanwhile it's 1.6W 445nm for the saber spiker that's why their base price have a huge difference. And the spiker saber does cost less materials to make than the spiker like sta said.

ElectricPlasma, no I do not still have the dimming problem. It was clearly a battery problem that took a little bit for me to diagnose. My first set of batteries came from Ebay. One was a good battery; the other has a problem with it. I went to a Vape shop to buy two new batteries and a good charger and the laser works perfectly.

One bad high drain battery together with a good battery can cause problems. On top of that add an el-cheapo charger that indicates the bad batteries are fully charged (green light) when they aren't, and won't fully charge batteries, this makes it very difficult to figure out the problem.

I knew the laser was a good build and tested before it shipped, and that Ebay is unreliable for batteries, so this prompted me to re-think my battery/charger option. With the new charger, it was easy to see that I had a bad battery because the battery wouldn't hold hardly any charge at all, no matter how long I left it in the charger. Stuck out like a sore thumb compared to the 3 good batteries.

I paid a little more for the Spiker (non-saber). I really like the thickness and weight of it. I do need to get that adapter for the beam expander. Podo, how should I contact you to get the adapter that I failed to order? It's not listed as a separate item on Sanwu's website.
