Need help for first complicated build.

Hey guys - I feel it's about time to build a new laser. My last build was a simple 445 in a C6. Mostly just putting it together like LEGO. The way I see it, if I'm going to spend the money to build something new, I want it to be my own construction. I've decided on a red build, but haven't picked a diode yet.

I keep getting hung up on a problem. I want this to be very unique - so I think I'll include two buttons - a latching button, for 'priming', and another momentary switch for lasing. Moreover - I want the latching button to light up when it is toggled. I've found (what I think) is the perfect part for this - take a look..

This has been a source of headache for so many reasons. I'm not a mechanical or electrical engineer of any sorts (programmer by trade), so it's very frustrating that I can't figure this out, either electrically, mechanically or logistically. Here are my problems:

1. How will I accommodate the threading for the switch?
2. How will I include space for the switch in a given flashlight host?
3. Should I get an 'adapter' machined, which will extend the back, and self-contain the switching wiring?
4. How will I maintain access to the battery?
5. Will I have to create a specific voltage regulator for the switch's LED?
6. How will I run the wiring through the host?
7. Should I get a custom machined host?
8. How would I design that host?

Thanks for any help, and sorry if the breadth of my problems is a little overwhelming. I'm fairly new to building physical things, and I've tried to learn it in theory, but hands-on is truly the best way.
