Often forgotten.. Here's a video of some old-school laser lumia effects.

This was done with a DIY lumia wheel spinning at 1 RPM. The wheel is a 3" diameter Plexiglas plate and was "creatively" smeared and dabbed with Duco Cement (glue). These effects are simple and cheap. I made this particular wheel circa 1985. Lasers used were a DIY red (170mW) and a 50mW DPSS.
The camera/capture/youtube conversion process does not do these effects justice.
