Anyone bought this, seen thing, know about this, or know the cost of this. CNI says its "low-cost" but their standards of cost are most likely a bit different than mine :D.

that looks like just the IR diode and crystal. no optical setup. the beam will still come out in kind of a line (more cone shaped beam than a line). still damn small

Yeah, the datasheet says the divergence is something around 15mRads. So it probably needs some extra optics.
