case for a homemade laser

Does anyone have any suggestions for things that may be lying around my house ? thanks! It can't be a flashlight or anything because I am using a battery holder.

Well, do you HAVE to use a battery holder ? :-?

Well, we have explored really LOTS of different flashlight hosts, I do NOT recommend driving these diodes off of just a couple of batteries, as you are relying on the internal resistance for the batteries, and that is not a good gamble for me, even when the diodes are only $13 a pop ! The "baby" Dorcy provides a decent circuit if you do not feel like creating your own, but it really depends on how you want the laser to look - I mean if you could hollow out a cool looking NERF gun (like Kenom did) then that would look cool....I personally prefer the look of a smallish flashlight as a host, though.
