The 70W diode have a duty cycle of 0,1% for an effective 7mW.
No duty cycle is stated for yours.
I assume it is something similar.

ETA: Having checked up a bit, it is actually possible that this is 7W CW and could be used for a burner.
It's just that the lack of pictures and you understanding of the concept of middle man makes me automatically doubtful of you.

Yes, this is a 7W continuous diode, 15W maximum (written on the box).

It would make for a nice burner in a project box with paltier unit.

I just got around to taking some pictures, sorry got in late from work. It's 9:28 pm.
Unfortunately I had to use flash so some images might have too much reflex.

Here we go.

The one in the box is the 7W continuous, the one mounted on the copper block (I cut this on my cnc machine) is a 3W 960nm (they sold it to me as a 4W but I don't trust that figure). I ran 2Amps through it and it nice and powerful, it could be used to pump blue but not very efficiently.

The 5 lose diodes are 1W 808nm, never powered, and the one by itself in the plastic bag with a shorting jumper on its pins is a 2W 808nm.

I stand corrected.

Your 7W diode would make for a rather nasty burner, and the fibre coupling makes it possible to focus it properly.

that's exactly why I bought it. Just needs a nice aspheric and the dot will be tiny and nasty.

Alright.
I went to the post office this morning, and it costs me 11$ to ship the box priority int. (weight 450 grams) to the US.

That's for the 3.2W laser.
210$ shipped takes it.

I will open another thread for the 7W fiber-coupled.

210$ shipped for that as well. (it's a 1399$ diode).

OK, laser will be on its way to our middleman Dave as soon as I can get to the post office. Priority shipping normally takes 5 business days to the US.
Let's see what this puppy is capable of.

Laser has been shipped this morning (9 am GMT) to DaGuin.
I consider it sold as I have full faith in its burning capabilities, as it's the best burner I have had.

Will wait for his meter's data though... you never know.
