So, is this sold or are you guys potentially still haggling over the asking price?

I am interested in spending some cash, if it is still available ..

A couple of thoughts,

Might be interesting to know the "basics" of why the first deal fell through. Just to remove some of the fog/smoke from this sale.

Also worth noting, assuming everything is still ok with this laser - with the Aixiz 3 element lens, you are looking at an easy 1.5-1.6+W laser with the simple addition of a $50 G1 or G2 lens and knowing it is an M140 indicates it is being underdriven so it should have a decent lifespan if built properly.

I'm assuming MJ built this? If so, you might want to link to his original fs thread and add any info or pics of the build process that could speed the sale along.

Best of luck to you!

Gotcha,

I just figured with you selling a laser you so recently got that it might be a good idea to clear it up so that no one thought the buyer backed out because of problems.

Assuming this thing is built well, that is a great deal for someone.

Again, good luck with your sale.

Yeah, it is built very nicely. And I understand it does seem a little goofy for me to be selling it so soon after I got it (and complained for so long about not getting it.)

But for me, it was more of just to see what I could be capable of building on my own. And get another first hand look at someone else's build. I am currently researching, and planning to build a similar laser now, possibly using the NJG-18 driver (a very cheap alternative).

All in all, yeah, it is a beautiful laser. I just want to be able to say I built one myself!!

Well, I read through the original sales thread and I see no problem with your complaining about it taking a long time to get it. That was an odd circumstance with him getting in a car accident right after the orders were paid for... it looked shady even though IQ was correct and it turned out ok.

I also don't see a problem with selling a laser after you got it - as long as you are clear about why you are selling. If you got it and it sucks and you felt taken advantage of (HYPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING HERE) then it would be ethically wrong to try and pawn it off on the next unsuspecting buyer. At least that is how I believe.

On the other hand, if you got it and decided you want to do a build yourself and maybe even you are thinking you don't like that host in person, or you want to build a higher power laser or whatever - that is fine. You might just be one of those people who buys a new car every couple of months because it is all in the thrill of the purchase. It doesn't matter as long as you are honest with the next buyer about what they are getting.

Technically you don't even have to explain why you are selling, but this forum is VERY protective of buyers and I think that is a really great thing. Bloomie did the right thing by pointing that out so that a prospective buyer could ask those questions and I think it is a good thing that you are answering them.

I've bought some bad lasers (resold chinese stuff, never from a builder here) that I just put in a box for parts and didn't say anything else about. I could have resold them without going into detail about what I didn't like about them, but that wouldn't have set well with me.

I know when money is tight, it is easier to decide to do something like that and I am fortunate to be able to take a few hits from borderline sales, but in the end it will come back to haunt you so it is always worth taking the high road - not only for your own integrity - but because the internet makes it very hard to be shady for very long without people wising up and avoiding a person.

Again, good luck to you on the sale and good luck on your upcoming first build!

Payment sent.

I was actually thinking of doing the same thing, inspecting this laser and upgrading the driver/lense or building my own.
