Alright, fast forwarding this a bit. Going to convert this thread straight-away into an actual groupbuy.
The Background -
We ran a feeler for a DD groupbuy this summer, and decided on a FireDragon 532 300mW model. When DD originally approached me, I had some personal rules/requirements in order for me to feel comfortable assisting in the process, most of which would apply here. The background is worth reading:

The First Groupbuy -
I think it was a success. Most (or all?) of our lasers came in over spec. They arrived relatively quickly, and I've had a new message almost every week since, from someone asking if it was too late to jump in on the groupbuy (of course it HAS been too late for months, and DD isn't even selling these lasers directly anymore). Here's the actual first groupbuy thread:

And again, I must stress -
I'm not LaserMan, I'm not affiliated with them, I don't work for them, or with them, and I've turned down receiving any gift card, thank-you payment, discount, or coupon of any kind. I'm on the GB list for a 500mW unit, and I will be buying that unit for the same price as everyone else. There's a tag at the end of each URL below, but that has nothing to do with me - that's Kath's LaserMan employee tag so that on her end the groupbuy sales get properly attributed to her. I'm not getting anything from this, other than the benefit of having some input on the lasers that got chosen for the forum's selection. That's it. At the same time, I'm not warranting anything here. I'm not shipping the lasers, LaserMan is. I'll never see them (apart from my own order), and I'll have no role in testing them, shipping them, or verifying any output powers, etc. I'm not even a middleman here. I'm just a glorified secretary. If something doesn't happen as awesomely as you hoped for, don't scream at me
The Options -
This is neat. We can actually choose THREE (3) different FireDragon options to choose from. As long as there are 10 participants in total, we will get the group-buy prices. I thought this would be good, since the new addition is a more expensive 500mW FireDragon, and not everyone may have this in their budget. So we're also going to add a 250mW cheaper FireDragon. We can't quite get the same prices as we did for the first GB on the 300mW unit, since the prices have actually gone up since then, but the dollar value of the discount itself is actually higher. I've worked with LaserMan to figure out the FireDragons where they have the largest margin to discount. One note: Logistically and financially speaking, I don't have the time to grab and review one of the 500mW units. So, consider that model "un-reviewed".
----------------------------
Option 1 - FireDragon I 532nm 250mW - Site price $194.39, GB discount price roughly $146.00
Firedragon-I 532nm 250mw Flashlight Style Handheld Elite Green Laser Pointer Kit (Certified Power Guaranteed)
Option 2 - FireDragon III 532nm 300mW - Site price $202.39, GB discount price roughly $172.39
Firedragon-III 532nm 300mW Flashlight Style Elite Green Laser Pointer Kit (Certified Power Guaranteed)
Option 3 - FireDragon III 532nm 500mW - Site price $423.99, GB discount price roughly $339.19
Firedragon-III 532nm 500mW Flashlight Style Elite Green Laser Pointer Kit(Certified Power Guaranteed)
----------------------------
Once we get at least 10 participants, I'll close the list, collect email contact details, and forward that info to LaserMan. They'll provide you with the coupon codes to get the discounted prices on each laser. At least, that's how it worked last time, and I'm presuming the process will be the same this time around.
The List:
1) RHD - 500 mW
2) richard86 - 500 mW
3) bobhaha - 300 mW
4) azzman - 500 mW
5) Presarian - 500 mW
6) Presarian - 300 mW
7) Kalahari - 300 mW
8) cheech226 - 500 mW
9) Jmillerdoc - 500 mW
10) plexus - 500 mW
