Cheap(ish) LPC-836

Hey everyone I was just looking on eBay and I found this http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=250971777401&index=0&nav=SEARCH&nid=99892260740
It's two of them for 30$ shipped so 15$ each. And these are the new ones and for this price they're cheaper then the old ones

Glenn (Scopeguy20) has them for $6 as of 2 days ago when I asked.

O.... Are you sure they are the new ones capable of 500mw. I know there's some older one for 10$ ish also but those are older. And if it is these new ones I wish I had known before.....

500mW? Glenn sells the ones that do 70mw :/

I lack any true specs, but I have found , the LPC836 will output about 70 mW max if you try to overpower it, it will not last and the wl is ~658nm it is useful for bright red pointers, but won't burn much... AMB! -Glenn

Lol that's what I thought. 6$ for 70mw isn't so bad actually but 15$ for 500mw is better

That's what I was thinking :thinking: the 826 being the top dog here, I don't think 500mW of red would go this unnoticed.

O the threads I had read all said this was the new best one.... But then I read those threads linked by Tech_Junkie and now I see the old one is better than the LPC-826...

EDIT: I found his one too http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=270905808661&index=15&nav=SEARCH&nid=02719567196 it's 4$ shipped for 150mw of red. Not bad actually I got one myself

From what I read on PL it seems the LPC-836 is the LD with about 50-80 mW
more than the (as you call it) the "top dog"

From what I have read they do around 50-80mW more than the LPC-826.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you're going to correct me, then correct TJ too :/

That was the first post on these, that was someone speculating about the power and what it might be, before tests even began and shipments were sent.

Also worth a read

I noticed at 240mW-250mW the Power started to Not Increase as Fast the More i turned the Pot...

IMO These Diodes are Not worth the Money. These seem to be No More then ~200mW Diodes.

What your Paying for is the Name IMO.

I notice there is also Wings on this Diode as well but there not as Bright.

Words from someone on this forum who actually tested these, with videos to show for it, with it's highest output being 331mW at 763ma before it LED'ed.

There is no if. He will wash out if he goes into it acting like he's an immature 13 year old. The point of leaving that comment is to let him know that the army is going to be 1,000 times harder on him than LPF. I felt maybe he should know that.

1. Not Army, Air Force, as it clearly says in my sig.

2. Normally I wouldn't have said that, but Jerry has some vendetta and goal to point out every mistake I make, which was made clear when he personally went after me, and not both TJ, and myself. I have no problem with authority, I have a problem with jerks, who are being jerks simply to be...a jerk.
