Hey All,

Just got Some LPC-836 in today and tested them out as Much as I could.

The New Looking Diode with No Solder mask on the Pins is the LPC-836. The Other Diode is a LPC-815. All My LPC-826 are In Module and I Just could not get a Good Picture with one. Ive got some more 826 coming so when they come in I will take Picture of all 3 diodes together.

Here are Couple Pictures of as Close As I can Get to the Die.

It Looks like the Die is Much Smaller then a LPC-815 and a LPC-826.

My Bench Power supply Died couple days ago and Order a New one that wont be in till later this week.

So For Now my Testing ws Done Just By Hooking up to a Driver and Turning the Pot.:san: Same thing More or less.

Pin Out is the Same as a LPC-815 & LPC-826:
RedLaserdiodePinout.jpg

So All I tested for is To see what the MAX Power is. Using an AR coated Acrylic Lens I was Able to get a Max Power Of 330mW-338mW at 750mA.

Turned the Pot a Hair and LED. Checked where the driver was and i was at 758mA.

Second diode...

Maxed Out at 332mW and would not move at 755mA Hooked the Driver Back on and Power went back Up to 331mW turned the Pot and LED at 763mA.L:eek:

At 300mW the Laser Driver was at 481mA.

I noticed at 240mW-250mW the Power started to Not Increase as Fast the More i turned the Pot...

IMO These Diodes are Not worth the Money. These seem to be No More then ~200mW Diodes.

What your Paying for is the Name IMO.

I notice there is also Wings on this Diode as well but there not as Bright.

When my power supply comes in i will be able to get better Numbers for you guys.

I hope this was enough to satisfy some of your Curiosity.

Update:

Video Test:

:thanks: For Looking.!!!

Interesting, how does the price compare the the 826's?

Thank you for the information. Too bad you have to murder them.

They are $5-$8 More then a LPC-826.

Yea they dont Dim like the 635nm or the 445nm diodes do they Just LED.

Its all good though.:)

Ill run a couple more when my supply comes in and keep a couple for myself.:)

When I first looked at the die on these i could not see it at all Until the Picture. The Die also is not as tall as the LPC-815 or 826 is.

Too bad they dont offer any serious improvements over the available diodes. Kudos for trying them to breaking point though!

Can you give me a link to the site where you bought them :) pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Yes I Know.:( i was so Hoping that they would. It would be Nice to get A Brighter 660nm Diode.:) Maybe someday.

Its my supplier not a site.:( Sorry.

Only sells in large bulk but did me favor on these and allowed me to buy 10 of them because Ive spent alot of money with them but only 5 of them are mine. The Other 5 went to another member.

Nice and Comprehensive.. I would say.. Still i'll wait for the new photos of all three
i.e: LPC 815,826,836 togather.. With their physical differences.. Thanks in Advance..

Alright Guys, I got my Power supply in today and was able to do a proper test.:)

awesome for posting the video test :)) +1 when I can,

can I ask what's the model of the PSU you are using?
I need one with current adjustment as well

Nice video, and cool PSU.. congratz.. and hey wheres the comparison video.. are u ona come up with something like that or not.. in the thread u mentioned it so just asking..
