Can you combine a 532 with a 445?

Just curious if/how this would be done. Would you use a cube or a dichro?

thanks!

You can use both a cube and a dichro,
but with a dichro its easier to allign the lasers.

now lets just say I want to use this with 2 handheld lasers. Will I be able to hit the dichro at any angle and combine them? or does it have to be 45?

a cube combined beams of the same wavelength and a dichro combines beams of different wavelength

Thats what I thought andy

DTR, I'm going to read through that thread now.

This isn't a project really, I just want a lens on my laser table that I can take my lasers(handhelds) and not have them mounted to ANYTHING just holding them. I want to be able to aim them both through the lens and see the beam, LPM and check out the power of the resulting beam. I am totally fine with the beams different characteristics making it not perfect. But its just something I want to experiment with. :)

thanks for the input everyone!!

Well, you can try that, but it's a pain to align those things even if you have them held down with something like tape or whatnot. I would fix at least one of the modules, especially if you want to do a LPM because having that dot moving around isn't good.

I do have a tripod I could use. I just can't find any dichro lenses that don't reflect green or blue, they're either blue/red or green/red

How can still use a cube to combine two different wavelengths, it's just not as efficient.

I guess keep in mind that this isn't a scanner or projector, just me wanting to combine beams to see what they look like. I don't care if there is only 90% transmission.

I believe DTR has what you need to combine these beams.

Maybe you need to think about it a little differently, if your going
to combine the beams you have to reflect one of the colors, so
use the pass blue and reflect Green and you have it.

and if you want to see what they look like combined I'll post some
pictures in the WFTM thread in a little while.

Technically it is the same as combining red with green just different coatings (aka dichro).

Imho, the combined color was not so impressive as I got with red+green=yellow. :can:
