Now, since the numbers were generated in an ordinal fashion, how does he randomize which prize goes to which number? ;)

Peace,
dave

Ah, since the people at the top of the list were guaranteed to be drawn for a prize at the top of the list. Glad you caught that, i didn't notice.

OK I earlier arranged and posted the item as best as I could with the most$$ first( that way all are still in the pool) and the least valuable at the end.

I will copypaste here asap.

Thank to all for the doantions and donated items-

Special thans to Adam (buffo) for doing the random selection-.as always brother YOU ROCK!!
thanks to Dave and Jerry for also vouching for Adam.

I do have a question for Adam about how the numbers happened to be in that order??
Not too likely that they just happened to be in desending order= maybe Adam misunderstood how we wanted this done- so dont celebrate just yet- we may need to do a second drawing--sorry!!

I just wanted to thank everyone that participated and helped me out so much! Please know that each and everyone helped make ends meet while I wait (still!) for a life insurance check.

My hand is getting better but I still don't have much control with it and have near zero strength. I have until May to return to work or face a 40% decrease in pay as long term disability kicks in and short term runs out.

You already have the "winning" numbers ;)

You can just randomize the numbers that were drawn

Awarding the prizes from most expensive to least expensive to randomly assigned winning numbers will give everyone that was drawn an equal chance at the best prizes

I used to have to do this stuff all the time in both CB clubs and hunting/shooting clubs

Heck! You can just write the winning numbers on pieces of paper and draw the numbers from a hat

First one pulled from the hat gets the most expensive prize and the rest follow in descending order of value (2nd one drawn from the hat gets the next most expensive, etc.).

Peace,

I do have a question for Adam about how the numbers happened to be in that order??
Per your instructions, I generated a single set of 16 non-repeating random integers from a range of 1 to 213 (inclusive) with no repeats using the random number generator on random.org.

When you select the "generate non-repeating integer set" function, the website automatically orders your numbers from lowest to highest. I assumed you knew this.

I don't normally do this when I use Random.org for the SELEM drawings. Instead, I simply generate a huge list of numbers (say, 50 or more) and then throw out the duplicates (of which you are sure to have several).

But since you wanted no duplicates, and you still wanted a screen-shot of the site as the numbers came up, the only way to do that was to use the "generate integer sets" function, which also orders the results.

Sorry for the confusion.

No worries, Adam
Len is just fairly new to this stuff
Luckily, he's just as cute as a button
He'll smile at us with those cute little dimples and we'll go all mushy inside

you guys crack me up sometimes-

Ok I ran the numbers but for the life of me I cannot see where I posted the re-arranged list of items- I felt that they needed to be with the bestest first and so on.

I am still in the dark ages with dial-up modem ISP- so I get bumped off line occasionally and I may have TRIED to post this list and it did not go through or maybe I got caught at a moment when LPF went down for upadte/repair etc.

So unless there is any objections- I will put up the original list of items and the random re arrangement of the winning numbers. I was trying very hard to run this w/o such problems--
List Randomizer

First of all, thanks to Hak & all the LPF members who participated in this fundraiser. I usually can't win anything, but today I got lucky and won two wonderful prizes from a couple of generous members (Hak at GLP, & T_warne). The gifts are great, and I've been wanting a B.E., & to build my own laser. But I think I am going to use my Santa Clause and donate my winnings to James. After all, that's what this is all about . Get well soon! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY AT LPF.

Jeff
