With hundreds of crystals to pick from, I'm not playing games,

WE have the chance for an infinity of wavelengths,
It's a green or is it blue, maybe it's a yellow,
I wish I had lots more cash, So many crystal options,

I lose myself in all this light,

Shaking from the joy that's in my lab,
I just want to strip down,
An dance naked around this huge contraption on the table,

But it's diodes, it's lots of diodes, ohh so many diodes,

My first build I hold with glee
Turned it on but it LEDed

My first one worked, got me head strong. The second one went really really bright for like 2 seconds, then just a speck of light. That's when I learned to never guess the pot is close enough. Always check it with a dummy before soldering in the golden child. LOL. I still have this diode somewhere. I opened it up and used my laser focusing glasses to look inside of it after I gently took the can off.

Those 505nm diodes may be case negative, case positive or the case maybe isolated. I don't know if this is an issue for you, but it may be worth considering. Good luck to you.

Mine is case pos and it's a beautiful emerald green color, also a nice tight single mode beam.

I love the greens. love love love love love love love the greens. An when they are in fat beam modules, OH MY GAWDZ, I LOVE 'EM EVEN MORE!! So far 505 is my fav. I want some higher up in the scale though. I like to beam them across the ceiling at night when I get home from work. Very relaxing to see them all streak across the ceiling. Few puffs of the fog machine, and ahhhhh time to unwind for the day.

I was playing with my fog machine in the backyard at around 3 am on Saturday. 3 shots of it, and I heard, " Where is all that smoke coming from, someone's house on fire?" So I stopped. I figured I was the only one up, so I was shooting lasers from the back of my yard to the house, through a layer of fog. The fog drifted between the house to the front side, and was making it's way down the street. I went up front and looked, BWUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Huge thick cloud rolling down the street, blocking out the street lights. I make my own super dense fog juice. Was quite the sight to see.

Good to know. That might be part of my mistakes. Now I need to check my spec sheets. I was thinking it was case positive, I may be wrong. So many diodes out there, gets a little confusing sometimes on which is which. This is my first year actually building them, vs buying, I've got a lot to learn yet. I've learned a lot too. One of the reasons I like this hobby, it's never ending learning!! I'm an addict for knowledge.

I have several case positive Sharp diodes that measure in the low 502 wavelengths. I could let one go if you're interested.
