Hey all,
I'm pretty sure most of you already know this, but I just like sharing and I was surprized.
So, a month ago, I managed to burn and engrave black plastic, using the cheap underspeced 50mW 405nm laser. All I had to do is add between the laser and the plastic a 200mm F4L lens :eg:
That surprized me, but there is more:
Yesterday, I managed to engrave black plastic using a DX 5mW green pen.
And no fancy lens in the middle, just my standard 15$ flashlight lens!
Lesson from these expiriments: the lens and the focusing level of the laser, is the most important thing when it comes to burning.
