@anselm - Great thread! I wish I could have seen the entire "Thick As A Brick" concert. I'm just a little too young. Beatles, Cream, I grew up on that stuff. My older brother turned me on to all the "classics".

@Tech_Junkie - We have a very similar taste in music. Very good selection! I've seen B.B. King several times, two years ago I took my new wife to see him for her first time. He is certainly the showman!

If anybody has not seen B.B. King in concert, you'd better see him while you can. He's not getting any younger....wait, neither are we!
I saw BB in Reno, NV at the Blues and Brews Fest in the late 90's. He put on one hell of a show along with JL Hooker, Etta James and a few others. (my mind went blank )

My favorite BB King show was about 20 years ago with Albert King, "The Kings of the Blues" tour. Never saw John Lee Hooker... I'm jealous! :cryyy: But I did get to see Muddy Waters before he left us.

^^^ The best part was the show was free! Nothing better than some good blues and good micro brews. They had everybody joining in, wish I could go to more stuff like that. I had a 2 day hangover afterwords, but well worth it! Just one of those shows I will never forget. I just remembered some of the others that were there, Johnny Lang & Susan Tedeschi. It was a 2 day event, there were some others but those were just the ones that I got a chance to see.

Yep gotta love PJ!
Yellow Ledbetter is one of my favorites along with Black & Even Flow.

Yeah those are my favorites too, along with Garden of Stone, ect.

Pinkpop '92 is the best concert out of my collection. Both for quality, and hardness.

Found a clip on the tube. You need to crank it up for best effect.

Gee, thanks for covering all that fine Rock and Blues for me, T_J!:D

I like France, and of all the regions I've been, I like Brittany (Breizh) the best!
Awesome direct and friendly folk, celtic culture...
Breizh rules alright!

So, here's a little folk-rock from a "vrai breton" Alan Stivell:

And because that was so nice, some more of that:

I cannot help but picture Asterix and Obelix roaming through the forests of Armorique
on one of their adventures when I hear this. :D
Awesome stuff indeed.

Almost forgot:
Merry Christmas to laseristas all over the world!:san:

And belgians Vive la Fete
Crank up the volume...

This is an American classic from 1968 done in 2 parts due to the length.
Enjoy!

I don't know much about this song or the singer, except that it features prominently
in the movie "Cria cuervos".
It is a strange, sad, beautiful song.
I wouldn't know what to put next to it, so it goes solo.

Sometimes, when you revisit the music of decades gone, you quickly come
to realize how utterly crappy todays popmusic really is.

Simplicity in a beautiful rendition.1981

Totally unrelated, but scores at a similar level of "cool".1979

Today's special: When musicians decide to troll their fans, the critics, the record company....
Pat Metheny, guitar legend:

Lou Reed:

And the most mindblowing of them all, John Cage:

I hope you have been enjoying this thread so far....
I don't get much comments, but that's cool, doesn't clutter up the thread!:D

Anselm, i'm sure you like stuff as Saga, Alan Parsons Projekt, Sweet Smoke just a Poke, Rare Earth and Beck.
I went to a DEVO Conzert 1990 and i was a little bit confused after.

@nikokapo:
Yeah, that's definitely a classic troll, I remember listening to that 1st time when I was
like 14 maybe, and all I could think was: "What the heck was he thinking, what is this, AAHHHH MY BRAIN!?":D:D
@dawinzi: prog-rock, eh? Yeah I like some of it, I'll get back to you on that.
I like Beck's first album. The others? Meh.
