It's now November, and getting cold and dark.. at least for those of us in the Northern hemisphere. This time of the year the light toys become more appealing. So I decided to put this video collection together.
Here's the laser, <= 100mW red pocket mini
(here's my review of this DIY laser:http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/review-pocket-mini-red-68231.html)
Something a little different than cutting electrical tape. Here I'm severing a section of fabric.. part of an umbrella
Note how clean the cut is, here's a closeup:
Burning through a CD case. Note the nice splash pattern after burn through:
Here's a closeup of the CD case afterwards:
Igniting a safety match from ~1 yard.
Match head after immolation:
Etching a leather sack.
After being lightly burned, the leather appears to have been attacked by an small boring insect:
Scoring a $10.00 landline phone ..
The phone after attack. Textured grip now
I didn't include popping balloons, or lighting cigarettes.. both of which are possible. My magnificent video of me lighting a removed was deleted
So, even a lowly 1/10 watt laser pointer is capable of some nasty burning.
