Do not expect this review to be too good
Heat is your enemy. Here is your silver bullet.
That is their slogan to this awesome compound.
I bought this about a month ago because my computer kept shutting down because the stock silver compound was no good anymore. I bought this from a retail store but they sell the exact same one from newegg.
Newegg.com - Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - Thermal Compound / Grease
My only big complaint is that the instructions were sort of hard to understand. You would have to take the old compound off with just a bit of acetone, apply the new compound with a knife, but the instructions made it sound like it would be the end of the world if you did it wrong (well it did to me lol)
This silver compound takes on the heat like if it were its personal enemy, not once have I had my computer shut down or restart because of heat. Considering I do live in Phoenix and it gets to a temp. of 120 degrees outside, I would have expected this compound to stop working by now.
This compund has three unique shapes and sizes of pure silver particles to maximize particle-to-particle contact area and thermal transfer. It's optimized for use between modern high-power CPUs and high-performance heatsinks or water-cooling solutions. This 12-gram tube contains enough compound to cover at least 50 small CPU cores, or 20 large CPU cores, or 7 to 15 heat plates.
My computer is a heavy duty computer with a heavy duty processor that can overheat easily, this compound works probably the best out of all the compounds I ever worked with.
