I am doing a review on the newstarlasers lab module from http://www.newstarlaser.com/
It came in a nice carefully packaged box
When I first plugged it in a "weak" beam of about 100mW or so shot out then it steadily rose up to about 170mW
Beam Shot compared to Alpha doing >120mW
as you can see it is much more powerful than the Alpha and has a similar beam size but it has better divergence!
alpha on left newstar on right the shot is a bit over exposed with od2 glasses on the alpha looks to be about the size of a nickel and the newstar is about the size of a dime mabye a tad less
it can pop balloons easily, light matches almost instantly, burn electrical tape like nothing and burn wood. it has a slightly wider beam than the alpha at 1.5mm vs the .8mm the alpha has but it burns faster and better even at a distance.
Gratuitous Beam Shot
I am very pleased with it and I would recommend it to anyone. at only $245 shipped and it comes with a free 50mW module at that price ;D
random beam shots to compare the brightness
shooting both into one spot
