I just removed a 20x LD from a sony DVD burner. Easy as pie to remove. I installed it in a housing and soldered some wires to the terminals. As was well - it was burning nice. The voltage drop was a little higher than posted here for the 112D LD. I wiggled the LD module and the anode wire twisted slightly, the LD pin spun, and broke the anode bond wire. I've been trying to resolder a wire in its place with no luck. I should have twisted the anode and cathode wires together then soldered them to the LD. The twisted wires would have held rigid and not spun the LD pin and broke the bond wire. Or, I could have soldered the open pin and the anode pin together and this would have prevented the pin from rotating.
