I got bored tonight.Heres the result.($2000 laser)

I just threw it together tonight. It uses the DT0811 diode, and I set it at 100mA using the rkcstr driver. It's doing a hair over 70mW and uses 2x cr123a's.

It's pretty sleek, I like it!!

Thanks again for the great job on the heatsink Dark_horse, and to Murudai for offering the barrels.

Yeah I agree!
I took power measurements with and without it, and it was only about a 3-5mW difference. Since I'm not too worried about the power of this laser I'm not even going to worry about it ;D

Looks as great as mine!
(Although your aperture cap has a minor imperfection...)

Mine is running of 2 cr123a, 803T running at 140mA...
They are very awesome! They look great and feel heavy, sturdy and valueable.

I've given up on the batteries... I'm going to get 14670s which are guaranteed to fit and give a little more juice than CR123s.

The little black spot on the aperture was actually a little piece of something... not a paint chip

I think eventually I may put a 6x in here. Not sure though, as there's really no way to focus it without taking the aperture cap off

Anyway, I like the aperture cap thingy even if it's harder to focus, it kinda protects the focusing module.That's how I designed my lasers too. :-/

Some black 'somethink' that sticked to the cap? Did you had to use your fingernails to scrape it away(of/f?)?
Some of that was one mine, too. I went like ohnoes how the hell did i manage to chip of the pulverd painting?
But I could scrape it away^^
