Exploding FunSnaps with My Blue ray

This is me having some laser fun. With a funsnaps and my PHR803T build from RA_Pierce. It has was measured at 156mW using a glass lens from Larry

Their little tiny paper bags. Filled with small crystals. You throw them on the ground and they will pop. I'm prety sure it's not gun powder. I believe they are made from Ammonium TriIodide

I light visco fuse every now and then with my BR just to get my fix of burning black powder smoke.
Theres nothing like the smell of black powder smoke in the morning !

Uhm, not pure ammonium triiodide, i suppose, probably a paint made with it, or, also better, some nitrate painted on the crystals ..... usually, ammonium triiodide, when dry, is too much sensitive also for touch it, i doubt that it can packed and carried around as cracklers (we call them this way, here )

Just for give you an idea, the only time i tried to make it for fun (very small quantity), when i put it on a paper piece for let it dry, i made not attention where i put it (near a window) and gone to do other things ..... at a certain point, i heard a loudy "PAF" ..... when the sun turned and hit the product, it self-blowed (yes, full sunlight was enough for blow it )

Why, do you think 30 seconds on. Is too much for this pen style phr?
Do they tend to have shorter life spans, then reds or greens?

I had to try the fun snaps----- The BR sets them off but they aren't very loud.
HOWEVER -- more fun than a match or balloon !!!
