Ok, I had 16 DX points, and they said that they'll redeem those points and ship me one more for free!!! :D :D :D

I would like to know that to. Someone will have to try it out.[/quote]
I don't think it would be that easy. Even though you are putting in a higher powered diode it probably won't be much different than the 70mW diode because the driver board is only putting out enough power to power up the 70mW.

I'll use one for a blu-ray if I can get enough voltage out of it.

Let us know how this experiment gets on with the Blu-ray diode ;) I've got one of these coming from DX and fitting a Blu-ray sounds very appealing to me :)

The problem is that I'm running low on money, and I'll have to wait for a GB. :-/

I doubt this driver would work with a bluray, at least not running of just 5 volts input. The diode housing will probably hold one just fine, but that would render this hole thing an expensive aixiz module.

Re: 70mw RED Module With Diver $17.24

I checked out Newwish.com

The red 70mW driver can be 10Khz TTL switched by soldering to pcb hole/land near the output transistors.
Also thr driver has  2 seperate current adjustable outputs. red & green.

I order DX sku 1096 green 100mW version with the same driver but the same pic on the Newwish site shows a 50mW.
This has me concerned because the Newwish site pictures a 100mW module with a driver having a heatsink and the module has fins on the backend. So I think DX is selling me a 50mW and claiming it's a 100mW?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

They said that you need 150 DX points to get one!
Dam, I'll just have to get around with 1... :'(

Re: 70mw RED Module With Diver $17.24

Just got mine today. DX sent the wrong one. I ordered the <70mW one ($17.24) and it appears they sent the <100mW ($29.09). I don't think I will bother sending it back. This one has the big heatsink. It has a soft power-on - it takes about 5-6sec to come up to power. There are two channels, each pot settable (I adjusted the red and measured the drop over the 1ohm resistor to get a current range of about 70-200mA. It came in an anti-static bag that had a Newwish label (NW-R-HD002).

It appears to be this one -> http://www.newwishlaser.com/english/productview.asp?id=871

I also received a second BLuRay module today. I want to put this in a really small host so it can be carried easily.

I orderd mine as soon as it hit the site and it's still not here, lucky you got the better one, i'd probably have went for the more expensive one if i didn't buy the first one, I hope they screwed my order up too and sent me the wrong one, tracking says left for destination on the 23rd, so hopefully it'll be here sometime through the week.

you gonna do a minni review? postt some pics and stuff?

Re: 70mw RED Module With Diver $17.24

they have a new one now its $30 but it comes with a heatsink around the diode, that would be good to replace the diode in it.

....lazer.... ;D ;D ;D
