So I recently purchased Jayrob's Pocket Mini Build and a 445nm diode from DTR. This was my first build ever! Jayrob and DTR were both extremely helpful to me
I ordered jayrob's available "Hot" option which made it a lot easier to complete. I also ordered a focus adapter and upgraded to his copper press fit heat sink option. DTR had soldered the leads onto the diode for me already so all I had to do was press it into the heatsink and solder the leads to Jayrob's leads from the driver. I applied some thermal adhesive to the heatsink before pressing the diode for better heat transfer. After soldering, I easily screwed the pill in holding the heatsink against it tightly with just my fingers. I then tightened it some more with some pliers. I felt really accomplished although Jay had done most of the work haha! Pics!
