ive been so busy working on red that ive done nothing with 445.

im giving reds a break for the moment to ponder on designs so thought i would do a 445 build

Interesting start....looking forward to seeing more. I have a twin Aixiz mount much like that and have been trying to imagine some way to make use of it.
Good luck ;)

no aixiz cases will be used in this build i hate aixiz cases they are so poorly made

If you are knife edging, its fun with 445... They have to be
the easiest ive played with so far.

If your only doing a 2 LD array, maybe fit that puppy
<<< into a labby :D

im sure knifing 2 diodes is much easier than knife edging 6 or 24 beams

it is going to be a module for one of my projector

What driver board do you have there Andy? If not Aixiz, then what modules too?

Are you going to knife edge or just PBS combine them? Merits for either technique would be useful here. I know you can knife edge more beams but when you only have two... ?

You see, I like knife edging and I also like PBS combining, but which is better? There's only one way to find out....

FIIIIIIIIIIIGHHT!

thats robins die4laser driver.

im mounting the 445 directly into the alum block.

im going to knife edge together then i only need to use one set of prism pair to correct the beam.

if you want to use a cube you would need to use two sets of prism pairs.

im sure you know im all about beam quality morgan, you dont have to use a prisim pair but i only want top quality beams

I know you like those nice tight beams well Andy and that would dictate using the knife edge method for simplicity. I suppose it would also give more flexibility should you decide to add more beams at a later date but I think I'd go that way too on reflection.

Do you have a link to the driver? I'm sure a bit of digging will turn it up but if you have it to hand...

Thanks,

M

I love watching andy's builds going from a block of aliminium to an epic build haha.

I'd love to see 4 12x 405's combined.

you only need to start using a cube when you go for a quad build. you can get decent beams from two by knife edging. you also get less losses when knife edging.

just google die4laser, robin has a new 445 driver but its more money.

Thats some heatsinking, is this gonna be part of a projector?

Did you get the diode btw?

SHHHHHHWEEEEEEEEEEEET start 2x 1 watt blend to make a good round beam ? looking forward for the end results
