Dorky Overkill Heatsink for 445nm

CPU heatsink, with copper spreader. Doesn't even get warm at full power.
It even had a fan I could put back on in case it gets even more not warm.

Nice! You should be able to set the current to at least 1,2A in that 'sink.
 
that looks better than the one on modwerx. you should make a tutorial of this.

Tricky to use. The copper is 0.125 thick with a little shaving around the hole because I wanted to have the back side of the module touching the heatsink.
If you are thinking of doing a bunch - anneal the copper first. It gets buttery soft to work with.

Got tired of the Overkill flopping around, taking up one my lab power supplies.

The output supply MUST BE CHANGED in a couple of ways. If you decide to go for it, let me know and I'll let you know what needs to change on it to get where you want to go!

damn! thats some nice work, i know what im doing when i get paid! i cant wait, been wanting to build a nice 445nm lab for some time now. the digital current meter makes it. again great work and i cant wait to do this
 
Cool heatsink!

The contraption with the current driver clamped on it is a bit odd, but i do like the idea of putting one of those meters on it.

I think it would be a nice thing to build myself, just a constant current supply like that for testing purposes.

Yeah, the laser head, with heatsink, snaps onto the power supply box. It's nice because I can pop the head off and clamp it to a plate that has the mirrors and combiners.

Variable drive current is great. I hate adjusting optics at full power!
