I didn't even know this guy before I had posted this thread:
http://laserpointerforums.com/f48/tiny-micro-labby-showcase-47132.html

He PMed me about my laser, and wanted to know if I would be willing to ship it out to him to get it metered. He seemed very eager to do so. So I let him know that I would love to it metered. (I didn't know him at all, so I took advantage of the rep point system to decide).

I eventually got it out to him. He let me know as soon as it came in, and also let me know when he would get to work on it. What he ended up doing however, was not just measuring power, but he measured extended time power, as well as extended time temperature on the heatsink. This was actually helpful to know that my heat sinking job was working. He emailed me these results, notice the DETAIL that the man goes into for me.

""Hi Tyler, I'll bet you've been waiting for this info. & your fingernails are down to the nubs already, RIGHT ? Well, BAD NEWS PAL. I plugged her in & got SQUAT, ZERO, NOTHING, NADA, in short, it didn't work at all. J/K, it worked just fine. Better than that, it was GREAT !!! I ran 3 separate tests @ 60 sec. on, & 60 sec. off for cool-down. All 3 tests had the exact same results with a 115mW-AVERAGE & a 115mW-PEAK. I also used an IR DIGITAL THERMOMETER to check the temp of the heat-sink during the tests, On all 3 tests the starting temp. was 71.4 DEGREES at the start, & 72.4 DEGREES at the end. A 1 DEGREE jump, so GREAT heat-sinking. Then I ran a 5 minute test. The AVERAGE dropped only 1mW to 114mW's, but the PEAK stayed the same at 115mW's. The starting temp. was 71.4 DEGREES, & after 5 minutes the temp. was only 78 DEGREES, an increase of only 7.4 degrees. I also lit various colored head matches of BLUE, PINK, & YELLOW, & the laser lit them all as soon as the beam hit them. I was MUCHO impressed with that little unit...""

As you can see, the man is very enthusiastic, and particular about his work. I also appreciate his sense of humor. Lasers are fun, and he is one that enjoys them more than most here on the forum.

He sent me back my laser by my requested method, and now I know how much my laser is putting out!

Rob wrapped that laser up so tight, I had spent about a solid (not exaggerated) 4 mins just getting the thing out from the box.

The package came wrapped up with several layers of clear packing tape. Beneath that, the box was stuffed with 4 layers or so, of wrapping foam which encapsulated the laser. The key was neatly taped to the laser head, and the cord-holding rubber band was wrapped so tight, I had to cut it 3 times with my knife just to free the cord enough.

Excellent wrapping.

Rob is great guy to work with, and I would recommend him for any deal that he may offer you. The many positive postings about him are evidence enough of that.

Rob,

Thank you for your services, and excellent communication. I'm glad to know what my laser is putting out. Cheers!

-Tyler

Tyler said he couldn't, even after I boosted his a tad to make it worth more to you, so I just "filled in" for him.

Besides, you deserved it!
