Mech Mods and DTR laser can

Sweet mod cameo awesome in 26650 cell, Oh if we turn down a piece of PVC tube and make a simple adapter for two smaller cells for 8.2 V builds. What do you think maybe , yes... i'm think i'm in on one of those..

Looks like we will not be able to get Mech mods now that the FDA in a genocidal move to hand the 3B+ part of the 5B+ vaping market that is currently run by small mom and pop type business over the Big Tobacco. This effectively is a ban on Vaping without having to say they are banning it as the estimate is that 98.7% of the industry will be pulled from the market. Juices and any related hardware that is solely used or marketed for Vaping will be pulled from the market in 90 days. Wording of this is that every component that can be sold separately as hardware or every juice, flavor and strength would need to go through an approval process that could cost as much as 10 million for each applications process that can be rejected at the discretion of the FDA. So say you sell a RDA tank that is one approval but if you want to sell the glass replacement part or different tips that would be another for each sold separately component. One application for every flavor and strength and PG/VG ratio variant. Some small shops they say even if it only costs the minimum 1 million estimate of an application if they have 50 different juices they offer with 5 strengths and 5 PG/VG options would have to spend 1.25 billion dollars on applications at a minimum to keep all the in house juices they sell on the market and they could spend the money and get turned down as is assumed would be the case as the conspiracy theory is that only applications submitted by the BT companies that are pulling the strings here will get approved. Wording of the regulations push for(in perfect alignment with BT's stated desires) a closed non refillable system. The applications also require proof that the product presents reduced harm which traditional cigarettes do not have to have to do for introduction to market. Hopefully when the body count in the years to come gets assessed from this defacto ban is realized all those who took money or traded influence with BT to spread misinformation or propose policy is held accountable and charged with crimes against humanity. At least that is my opinion. Funny that England went the completely opposite direction as they published a study saying Vaping can cause a health revolution saving millions of lives and have told the medical community to actively advocate switching from cigarettes to vaping.

Anyway back to the point. Imports of mech mods if this ruling is not challenged and reversed will be banned and this is different than lasers as they are talking about penalties if caught trying to import devices not approved by the FDA since it will fall under the controlled substance statutes which is different than lasers where all you really have to worry about is seizure. So If you have an eye on a mech mod build I would get your mods while you still can.:beer:

I've seen many news reports on the main channels all about the new regs. Did not realize they were going to take it that far though. Don't understand how you can stop people from selling a mech mod as that isn't the part that matters. Of course they want to regulate the "juice" but the rest is just pieces/parts which makes no sense.
Oh wait, it's government, it doesn't have to make sense. Got to follow the money trail here and see what is really going on. Maybe big tobacco is behind it.

Yea I like how one guy put it over on ECF it is like calling an ashtray a tobacco product and only letting BT have approval to sell them. It is all about forcing a closed disposable system which BT has been pushing for since they got in the game to maximize profit and eventually tax the hell out of it. It is all about money. BT profits and replacing tax dollars lost from people that stopped smoking seems to be the biggest push. It is speculated The National Cancer Institute is feeling the squeeze as their existence is based on the tax from Cigs so they would now prefer you not quite smoking to save their jobs instead of embracing Ecigs that could save millions vilifying it and spreading misinformation. Then there is the money from the MSA which has already been spent ahead of time borrowing against what they expected to get over time but now that smoking rates are falling and the money coming in is much less than expected there is a huge deficit. They already spent it and are either going to have to dip into reserves, or find something new to demonize and tax to keep from defaulting.

Hey there, so correct me if im wrong, but the 510 Mods I typically use only take just (1) × 18650, which means it wont be running the laser at its highest power output due to the 18650 battery limited to 3.7V, correct?... But if I had (2) × 18650, that would suffice?

Sorry about the noob question, Im still trying to understand power draw current and battery requirements for drivers & diode laser... [ie. 3.5A driver requires 'so and so' battery to supply the right voltage/current, ect...] Any information regarding this matter and even an article which will help me better understand the electrical power aspect of lasers for my knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If your mech mod takes a 18650 it should also take 2-18350's as well . this way you don't have to get stuck using a boost drive or a lower power diode. then you can use 2-cells with a higher power diode . I do this quite a bit..

No my mod is a fairly new digital VV VW Target Box mod which I believe only takes a 3.7v 18650 battery... not sure if its stackable friendly or not.

My question to ALL is, What are your Overall battery power duration and typical duty cycle do you guys get? Be sure to mention your setup like your Diodr, Power, battery, and Mod.


While i really like the 510 adapter idea i have YET to build a beefy laser build of my own like a nubm06/07e. Which i think will be more fun and more capable with a much bigger battery capacity potential and duty cycle and not to mention the On/off switch capabilites that the mechanical mods lack, as far as i know.

Btw, how does one change power output modes if one were to put a variable power output Driver in a 510 Adapter? If itll even work, atleast..

I never used a vv vw mod for the 510 module, This way there are no voltage issues. i use a simple Mech mod for these builds , say for the PLTB450B diode i use a XDrive set to 1.8A's , panasonic , Aw cells, And the Aspire CF Mod or any other side fire or bottom fire mech mod,

Btw, what is that hinge looking thing between your 510 module and your Aspire CF mod?

Duty cycles are about 45 sec on / 30 sec off to play it safe , the 510 module heats up rather fast with the higher power diodes.But if you build one with a single mode diode at lower power the cycle will increase. Oh and that hinge on the CF is a add on for this vape mode found it on the web. . It takes the mech mod to fold for easy carry well built item and it locks and un locks in place.. I'll add a link for these folding adapters.
