There is a discussion of the diode here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f65/new-generation-445nm-diodes-nichia-ndb7a75-87042.html#post1265333

Please see the previous diode group buys for more detail in what this involves.

We will not be killing this diode. Once all the information has been received it will be sent to a participant of the GB to keep.
Each 10$ you donate to the GB counts as one entry.
Daguin, or another trusted member will draw the winner.

Missed the 520 1W due to bad timing with surgery so we will see how this one goes....subbed :D

That one is still ongoing :p Hasn't ended yet.

Re: GB: 3.5W 445nm diode information/giveaway

Do we know yet from which projector they were extracted?

No clue, that's a question for DTR :p

They may not be PJ pulls, don't know much about them at the moment.

Next paycheck soon, may be able to contribute.

Just curious ARG, how do you test the diodes? Do you apply more and more current until the output becomes unstable and you conclude that just under that current is the maximum input?

Just curious :p

I guess he does it till the efficiency drops dramaticaly or even the output drops

Man this is great another small chance to win a superior diode and informations on how cool those diodes really are :D
I just love those diode information GBs
Thanks ARG +1

Re: GB: 3.5W 445nm diode information/giveaway

I just do it until the efficiency starts dropping rapidly, can also tell that the diode has had enough when it starts doing crazy things (two wavelengths from that 473nm diode)

Re: GB: 3.5W 445nm diode information/giveaway

I want to put a contribution on this but it will have to wait a bit. Need to evaluate my finances considering new semester of college, books to buy, hefty credit card bill to pay off, etc. Im not sure how much $ I can commit to :cryyy:

Re: GB: 3.5W 445nm diode information/giveaway

Wow, all this excitement - what a great way to start a new year:gun:

$10 from me.

Re: GB: 3.5W 445nm diode information/giveaway

Techhood has em on ebay for 650$, if you are itnerested. I will probably be donating as well, not sure yet though. these things scare me.

Re: GB: 3.5W 445nm diode information/giveaway

Wasn't going to spend anymore for now but... what the hell, I'll give $10 for the sake of power.

That's the plan of were to buy from :)

Re: GB: 3.5W 445nm diode information/giveaway

Hey Arg, found any sources for Nichias new 9mm 1000mW 476nm diode yet? I would certainly contribute to a GB for one of them!
