And it will be knurled so it will look a little smaller so will be perfect, shouldn't stick out at all off the smaller hosts.


@ RHD NVM I get it... Can you Update the OP so the newest model is displayed? Or have all the options we have come up with that are "Good" :p

yea...taking some measurements myself, i realized that 19mm is just right, although on some builds it might look to big, BUT krogith said, knurling it would reduce how big it LOOKS so yea. 22mm is huge, and doesnt fit alot of host, 16mm is kinda of sad...only a lil bigger than the stock aixiz, anything bigger than 22 would probably bring costs up to high.

Why would knurling make it look smaller? Knurling with actually increase the diameter as it dosent compress the material as much as push it to the sides to make mounds and valleys.

Well, I didn't want to update the OP to imply that my design was THE design, since we've had some cool other ones emerge here.

But I'll add mine, and would be happy to add the others on request :)

@RHD can you do your design with 3 parts touching the center instead of 2? I'd like to see how it looks

I'll give that a shot later this evening (I like the idea)

Plus, redoing it will give me a change to adjust the thicknesses based on a 19mm size - more properly. I'm semi concerned about the thickness of the lens thread walls, so I think a bit of an "update" is in order.

Hey rhd, like i said earlier, consideration for high output lenses should be included when you design the thread depth of the focus adapters. The normal aixiz works fine, but some custom adapters have too deep threading which does not allow focusing to infinity. Just my $0.02

Could this be solved with a 1mm thick 5mm diameter washer? IE, add it between the lens and focus knob before you screw the lens in ?

true, that might be ok...probably 2mm if the threading is too deep. It would be nice to make it plug n play. Then again we are trying to please the general public so yea.

the picture of the focus knob on the Poll page seems spot on. I'd say that should be the design. Simple yet elegant. should be cost effective but still knock the stock aixiz knob out of the water.

Ah they can;t be round like the same as in the OP??????

And the Center ring needs to be Thinner and the outter ring thicker so there the same Size and add a Bevel on the outter edge so it matches

yea what he ^ said. That new design is awesome though. Kudos for taking the time to design these suckers. We shoud let you name these new focus adapters rhd. The only concern with designs is that costs goes up with intricate details so yea. I've messed around with the software emachineshop provides, it turns out using more than 2-3 tools to make the piece dramatically increases cost.

I think I'm only at 2 tools right now (the "Auto" machine, and the Thread / Tap machine)

However, we'll be adding a 3rd tool to get it knurled. (which I'm not personally a fan of visually, but certainly seems to be a popular request)
