Ohhh that clear case seems like an awesome idea. I would not want to spend a lot of money though, not doing so well in that category atm.

they are brand new Duracells from Home Depot. The tracking with this order was screwy and I was not expecting the laser today so I just pick up a set. It would make sense since it seems like there is no power, but when I first put them in it was VERY bright. I will try another set , if i have them at home, when I get home from work (before I buy rechargables) Thanks for your advice

I have had the same thing happen to me, it's probably just your batteries though. Try duracell rechargable, fully charged of course. ;)

the pelican case I am looking at goes for 84.95 Amazon

All the cases I've been looking at today are under $40.

What size batteries are they? You're probably undersupplying voltage, as most lasers take 3.7V Li-ion's.

Crap, now I feel so ghetto about my storage solution. Mine are just in a large desk drawer, line up side by side

On a side note... any tracking numbers yet? :D

Thanks Coby, I will pick up a set tomorrow and pray it works. I don't want to deal with shipping it back to China (at my expense) and waiting for a new one. So you put in regular batteries and had the same situation? It would be awesome if that is all it is

A nice case for lasers is always a good thing. If your collection of lasers grows then you need something to put lasers in and protect them when moving them.
Here are pictures of my DIY lasercase. It is a big slimline case. Very easy to build.

This would be another perfect one for anyone wanting to throw together an inexpensive laser case:
Aluminum Poker Chip Case - Choose Your Size : Amazon.com

The best part is that they have multiple sizes available. As a reference, the 500 chip case should be about 20"x10"x2.75" (I approximated the size based on other cases that listed dimensions).

Has anyone else ordered foam online before? The only place I've tried is The Foam Factory. They seemed to have plenty of options, and their shipping was quick, but I've never bought from anywhere else. They're based in the USA, so that's probably why shipping was so fast. I'm just wondering if anyone has experience elsewhere. As a side note, their pick-n-pluck foam is not made of cubes; they're rectangular prisms, so if you want to hollow-out halfway through the foam, you need to rip it. It's easy to do, but I messed up in a couple places on mine, and it looks uneven. Has anyone here seen that kind of custom foam that's made of cubes instead?

Edit:
Hey, Blord, is the foam you have there in your case made up of cubes? It looks like it from here, but I can't be sure. Where did you get it from?

That place sounded familiar because I drive past it when I take my daughter to the dentist down that way. Guess I'll have to stop and check them out.

Mine are also rectangular from top to bottom. But they are not really cubes meaning 1x1x1 but 1x1 on the top. I use a scissor to cut the foam away in the mid. The ragged surface beneath the lasers can't be seen when the lasers are put in. It is a pretty neat solution.

Yeah I would definitely try it with other fully charged batteries, an don't forget that green DPSS lasers are very sensitive to temperature. If it's too cold outside it won't reach its max output. :)

Oh well, my Dragonlasers 100mw Hulk green needs to be returned. I did get rechargeable batteries, charged them, and the same thing, the dull beam appears, then fades out. Dragon Lasers will be sending me a RMA to return and I guess the process of getting a replacement will be about (I hope) 7 weeks. At least a have a HL 405 500mw coming from the Group Buy.
