Hello LPF!

After many months of job, I finally got myself my first class 4 laser.
Its blue 445nm laser.

First I'd like to thank these members for selling parts to me.

Jayrob - Stainless Steel 18650 -kit
DTR - M140 -diode w/ leads (and A140 too, but well, its in better place now :()
LarryDFW - HQ Sanyo 2600mAh 18650 battery.

Thank to you all! Everyone of them answered to my every question. I sent almost 20 private messages to Jayrob, and got answer to all of them. (Should I feel embarrassed... :crackup: )

I highly recommend to buy from these people, if you're going to.
(Im not saying they are only good sellers on LPF..)

Here is my review of

Laser assembled.

Alright.
I was looking for a 445nm laser, and when I saw Jayrob's thread, I fell in love with that Aurora SH-032 host.
So, I bought that kit. (Sorry, I dont have pictures of the packet that I received from Jayrob)
Then I bought a 445nm diode from DTR (but I accidently and stupidly killed it, and I had to buy another. )
I also bought nice 18650 cell from Larry.

I cant verify the output, but it should be around 1150mW... as the current is 1.2A.
Burning; what you can expect from a +1W laser... be careful where you point it ;)

..:::Assembling the Kit:::..

The assembly was easy! Well, I cant compare it, as this was my first kit, but it was still easy. It took probably <20 minutes to assemble it.

I asked Jayrob to set the flexdrive to 1.2A

All I had to do was to solder two wires.

Soldered diode's wires to drivers.

Then I twisted the heatsink+pill into the host.(?)
And that was that! (More assembling information you can find on Jayrob's thread, or you can PM me.)

The parts and the host... (my battery is backwards :eek:)

Then I grabbed my new Sanyo cell and put it in. It's case negative. (negative end of batteries towards tail switch)

And that was it! My first high powered laser ready for action.

>>Remember to use goggles when dealing with Class 3B and 4 lasers!<<

..:::pictures and beamshots:::..

Here's some more pictures of the laser. Quality isnt top, I used my Galaxy's camera.

..:::Conclusion:::..

This kit is perfect for newbies and starters! You can train your soldering skills too.
And again, 10+ for Jayrob's custom service!
:thanks: Jayrob for this kit again!

Hope you liked this review, PM/tell me if I have big grammar mistakes so I'll fix them :eek:

Peace LPF, and

Happy New year!

Hey thanks for the review! +rep

Good job on your first build, now your hooked! :D

One thing I noticed in one of your pictures, it that you accidentally put the battery backwards for the picture.

I mean it's not a big deal, but something like that could cause a little confusion for someone new...

Edit: Didn't see that you had mentioned that under the picture...

Anyway... :gj:
