Really enjoyed your review. We have entered a new era with this diode.

Well, I kind of did mention it, in the very first paragraph of the review...
Once you go with an SLR, it's just a matter of one component at a time. My EF-S 60 Macro was approx. €350. Since this lens doubles as nice portrait lens (60mm*1.5=90mm), it's a bargain at that price.
Another member asked me what it takes to make such photos. Well, a good macro lens can't hurt, and is necessary for close-ups. But for a decent photo of say, a host, you need very little:
1. Tripod
2. Manual focusing
3. self-timer
4. good, even lighting
5. White blance control (either during the shoot or with post-processing)
6. Good photo SW (eg. Photoshop, Elements, etc.)
Light your subject, focus by hand, use a tripod & self-timer to avoid shake, work with smaller apertures - one-two stops below max aperture. If your lens is a f/4.0, work with f/5.6 or even f/8. This will minimze any focus errors.
That's it, no rocket science, just a bit of patience and a bit of trial & error Of course, good glass never hurts. Some lenses will never produce really sharp photos no matter what you do. Thus, you're better off with a HQ Point & shoot than with a really cheap SLR lens.
Back to macros: Intro74 is one of several members that have shown what one can do with the right gear:

***EDIT***
That green ring? Some sort of spacer, maybe associated with the diode window. In any event, the same is visible on my 6X BR diode too... (feel free to CLICK on the image... )
This is a very good question, something that, amazingly enough, I omitted from my review… :yabbem: This is certainly NOT the most FOCUS-FRIENDLY host around… . I kind of knew that when I had Jay order it for me, but I figured that I’m either focusing once for burning or once for infinity and not jumping between the two. However, I have already ordered Jay’s custom focus knob (and long Aixiz 400-450nm lens assembly). I will ask him to make it a little longer for me, as I can’t imagine I will take more effort. Davidgdg’s review of a 445nm with the stock 18650 kit suggested it too, is problematic, but this is primarily why Jay has been providing the community with “Ez Focus” solutions since the advent of the 8X 405nm diode. We’re always getting in the way of our beams while focusing, we just didn’t notice until they were powerful enough to instantly bake our fingertips, lol…How is the standard aixiz focus ring with that crown on that host, still usable? Or is investing in a larger focus ring almost mandatory?
Well of course the blue is much more unique and unlike the 405nm, very visible! As my review and images show, the brighter one is “officially” the 660mW 445nm and not my 130mW 532nm, but my eyes see the green as being, well, more “solid”. Look at this image again; See how the blue looks fatter, but conversely, more translucent than the green? That is how I see it in the night sky.…so.... 600mw of 445nm is about 100mw of green?.... do you think to prefer to use (general usage....stare pointing...)this new blue laser instead your green?...
Thanks, that’s very interesting & good to know! Well it seems to be used pretty much everywhere (now) as the image I posted above is from my 6X BR diode… . “Green” or not, that glue must be very heat-resistant, considering the heat-buildup a 445nm diode will produce…The green ring is the glue holding the window to the can … These look like the green ones we get for some 650nm, 5mW diodes…
But blue wins due to its rarity! I can’t wait for someone to compare their 473nm DPSS lasers to a 445nm; Davidgdg said he will post results as soon as he gets his 473 back (being repaired).
Thx for the link! I posted my suggestion to Davidgdg on taking a few photos... Oh and btw, that's pretty amazing what you managed to pull off with just a cell-phone... :beer:http://laserpointerforums.com/f65/445-versus-473-visual-comparison-52606.html But there's no pictures...
Imagine what will happen if you hand him a real camera!Thx for the link! I posted my suggestion to Davidgdg on taking a few photos... Oh and btw, that's pretty amazing what you managed to pull off with just a cell-phone...

Actually, it's really hard to run out of laser-related stuff to photograph IMHO, you can always play around with some optics like prisms or any kind of jewelry, usually nice results for "abstract" photography. Thanks for the compliments, with the cellphone it was a simple matter of taping a lens in place with some clear tape (thank you, forgotten Instructables poster). My regular shots aren't that great, living in the middle of a city leaves one with a lack of interesting things to photograph, at least around here anyways.
Edit: Post 1,200
Have a look at what rkcstr posted on my What's in your Camera Bag thread......Awsome pics, that guy Intro, wow His avatar showing an opened TO3 diode...
Done & dusted...I send you a PM yesterday...
