My Arctic had been going well since Wednesday, now I go and turn it on and hardly any dot at all. It's just visable with glasses on battery indicator is on Battery is fully charged, just charged it.

Any ideas? use to turn it on and instantly was working, not now. I know my green DX takes awhile before it comes on, as it's winter here and when my Green DX200 is cold take awhile before full power, but my Arctic never had this trouble.

Since WL never answer their emails I doubt I will be able to get it replaced.

This is hilarious, we should have a list of broken/faulty arctis.

I am sorry for you though.

its the safety pin. you need to fiddle around with it, unscrew and screw it back on multiple times. not really sure but thats what happened with mine.

I have a cheap 5mw green pointer that does the same thing....I'm hoping it's not the same problem lol (being cheap)

^Not sure if that was supposed to be funny or not. Is there a safety pin on your cheap 5mW pointer too?

No Safety pin made on difference to mine. Lucky I also ordered a Spartan 1 watt also, and was informed was sent on Thursday. At least Dragon have far better sales service and answer all your questions, and seems I have only waited a couple of weeks not over a month, for something that now is a piece of crap.

If I hear no joy from WL, which I am beating on, is there someone here, who you can recommend to make me a 445nm laser out of my Arctc host, wil be a matter of sending them my host, I would want 1 watt or better.

It maybe a good option if I get no joy from WL as the Arctic host is a good looking host.

That is why if I get no joy from WL I would like someone here, with a good reputation to build a 445nm with my Arctic host. It is just a shame to have to bin the host in the rubbish if someone can make a good working laser for me using my Arctic host.

Should make it cheaper for me as I could send them my Arctic to use as a host.

No would rather have a 445nm laser made for me out of my Arctic host. Would be a good project for someone who likes to build lasers

Were i you, I would trade your "faulty" arctic straight up for a 445nm laser.
the person who gets it from you really just needs to replace the diode, and should probaby replace the driver too.
So that like $225 credit after repairs?
(custom 445nm takes like $133 to build. that's assuming $50 just for lens)

why replace driver also, since you say a custom takes like $133 and roughly $50 a lens would it simply not be better to just chuck out all the Arctic driver, etc and not repair, but turn it into a custom build? They would not have to worry about a host, ,they can use my Arctic host? Just a thought?

Lucky I also ordered a Spartan, which was sent Thursday, unlike WL I only had to wait 2 weeks and what wonderful Customer service. Also from a review here looks like it is just slightly overspec, which beats the Arctic.

well a different 445 in the same host will do you no good, its the tail cap thats causing the problems.
