These have been shown, but there are a couple of ways to make it work. This is how to set it up with a FlexDrive and the batteries 'case negative"...

Some tips on this build are as follows:

* After trimming the FlexDrive, an easy way to make sure the driver does not short out on the Leadlight case, is to just use a thin piece of electrical tape along the edges of the driver.

* The white lead is positive (from the switch). So the negative from the driver, must connect to both the diode negative, as well as the diode case pin. (two pins soldered together to the negative lead from the driver)

* I found that just a couple of small 'blobs' of solder on the side of the AixiZ module is perfect. You can use a small file to get the right fit for a nice pressed fit to get good ground.

I built this to sell! Lol! But it turned out so nice, that I can't bring myself to let it go! :D I decided not to post this in the 'Buy, Sell, Trade' section, but since I had already taken pictures and everything, I figured I would go ahead and show it here...

I have my Meredith glass Leadlight blu-ray at 132mW's. The diode in this build must be a little 'bluer'. It is visually brighter at 125mW's than my Meredith Leadlight. Plus, getting 125mW's at only 134mA's with an AixiZ acrylic! That's a HOTTER than normal diode! :)

Nice work (as usual), Jay

Peace,

ive made 5 blu-ray so far and not one has shorted and i dont use tape.

so shouldnt be to much of and issue

Thanks for those complements! :)

andy_con says he still has about 40 of these Leadlight cases left. Better get some... they are down right cheap!

I'm going to get some more.

Here's a couple of beam shots...

Schweet! 8-)

glad you like them

Yes I like them a lot! :D

Just finished my red pointer. Remember the Phazor GB diodes?...

I got into the habit of labeling my builds because it started getting too difficult to keep track of which one has what diode @ what current, etc...

Great deal on those cases andy_con! 8-)

yeah i labels all mine so i know whats what.

any time

I know this thread is a bit old but I'm working on a similar build. Not sure if you used the same pen host as I but mine came with a PCB spring board and a plastic piece to hold it...I'm not entirely sure how to install it. Which way the plastic piece is supposed to go, how to secure it in there, when/how to install the button...call me a noob but I'd rather ask dumb questions than mess mine up.

There are a few pictures and build tips in this thread:

Thanks a bunch...that first picture showed me the one combination of setups my engineer brain didn't think to try...works really well in that plastic piece and I feel slightly retarded. Still not entirely sure how to secure the whole assembly in the host or if I should glue the pcb into the piece but I suppose a bit of glue ought to do the trick
