Is my new style dilda dead?

I need some help I don't know if my dilda is dead or not and I quit my job days ago because school is starting, and of coarse I can't do both because of clubs and sports. So if I can use anyone's batteries that would be great. If you have suggestions for cheap ones that would be good but I really can't afford it.

So here's what's happening. I was using my dilda one day and it just suddenly became dim. I charged my batteries and the next day they were fully charged, I tried it, still dim. My dilda looks like a normal 5mW red laser and it does not burn. I would send pics but I don't have it with me right now so that means I'll post pics maybe tomorrow if people want me to.

I do own lots of burners but this one is a big loss for me because it's probably the best burner I have.

LED'd
I did the same thing to my old-style dilda last year by using 2x 3.6v CR2's (too much input voltage will kill the diode because the driver is linear).

No I just used the 3V batteries O-like gave me.

95% chance that the diode is dead. 5% chance of driver or battery issue.

I would like to find out if it's just the batteries. I hope it's not dead :( like I said I have no money. So I can't afford new batteries.

No

I don't want to start planning the funeral yet. I still have some faith that it's not dead. I just can't accept the fact it's dead.
Ok here's one final thing to try.
Measure the voltage of the batteries while the laser is turned on. If it sags way down then the batteries are the problem. If it stays nice and high while the laser is still dim then your diode or driver is blown.

I don't have a multimeter yet (yes I'm very poor) I guess I'll just have to wait until one of my family members get money (5 more days) so I can buy some fresh lithium CR2s and pay them back way later.

UPDATE: I found out my laser is dead. How? Well my friend has 4 pairs of never opened fresh CR2s from the store and he gave me 2 pairs to use (He's had them for only a week) The first pair did the same thing. Cheap 5mW red. The next pair did the same thing. I guess you guys were right. I'm so sad. :cryyy: Does o-like have a warranty it has not even been 4 months since I had it.

I thought you bought it from Budget Gadgets?
The 1 from budgetgadgets I sold to a friend about a month ago for grocery money. The o-like 1 I had longer. I can't buy it off him either because I'm broke. So really I had 2 then I ended up with 1 and it died.

btw 200th post! yay!

talk to O-like about it. That's all I can say.

Mine just died too...2 nights ago I was shining up into the sky when it dimmed to half of a $2.00 red pointer's brightness. 200mW to 2mW in 2 months. Used it very little and always no longer than 2 minutes on at a time. I think O-Like shipped it set at too high a current somehow because it would burn thru a jewel case in (no bullshit) 0.5 seconds from 5-6 inches away.Way faster than every single video of other 200mW reds burning thru one on YT. I was very, very pleased with it until 48 hours ago.I haven't e-mailed Suzie yet but I plan on it tomorrow. :(
