Im not sure how much you can shorten the module, its been a little bit since I looked at one but I think I remember being able to unscrew the module to seperate it from the collimating lens. That with spring mods maybe enough room
Then all you would have to do is have a work around for your optics.
Just brainstorming, its hard to speculate without host dimensions...
I dint think of that. Yea usually there is alot of extra metal that is not need after the collimating lens. It usually has threads witch in ment to screw into a NewWish Pen Host or torch like host. Get ride of that and i think that might be enough to still be able to use 2x AAA 1.5v cells in the host.
I've stuffed a green in one of my sipik hosts before without changing external dimensions on it, but it's a lot larger than a 1x AAA, and even then, had to switch from an 18650 to an 18500.
The shortest i've ever been able to modify one including the driver is 50mm. Though that is with a stock driver that comes on them I'm sure with a small form factor linear regulator another 10 mm could be shaved off of that
excuse this noob question, How exactly can you polish off the anodising? What kind of device do you use that can get off the tough anodising yet give it a smooth finish?
I think you should keep selling the polished version. I know i'm planning on carrying them as soon as I can come up with decent drivers to package with them but I don't have time to do deanodizing and polishing so mine will be the normal hosts.
Ah. That might work for the 2x AAA hosts but I have a bunch of 1x AAA hosts as well. They'll need some sort of boost driver. I was thinking about going with an ak-007.
