1.8A Drivers are LD1085 based and need 2x IMR/LowR Cells
===============================================

===============================================
All others are LM1117 based

Good heatsinking recommended.

If you wish to mod your driver use 2512 sized SMD resistors of the proper power rating.

Specs:
Size: 10mm x 14mm
Max Current: 1.3A +/- part tolerances (tested w/ 4V dummy load)
Min Vin: 6V (4V load)
Max Vin: 9V (limited by input cap rating)
Continuous Ground

Inside Aixiz Module, tight but it fits:

jib77, hey thanks for the offer, I'll take the 2 that you have left man. Do you use Paypal? Just let me know the email address if so. Thanks,

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

All gone for now ... I have boards for 4 more but need to order parts, so they wont be available till next week. Order for 12 boards has been placed, available mid Feb ... Please reserve you driver by posting below (in case I need to increase my order).

I am open to suggestions on available pre-set currents ... maybe a low power version for LPC/LCC and a mid power version for 12x.

You know what would be a neat idea - a community designed open source / public domain driver.

There must be the expertise here to design a 1-cell capable driver like a flexdrive, and I'm sure there would be enough interest to get a small run created?

jib is planning it too.

Unless this driver we expect is a boost driver, there wont be any difference as of now. lm1117 has been known for a long time and many members here designed small linear drivers with it. The problem with linears is that you need more input voltage than output, thus, you can't use a single 18650 cell ( which is really convenient for portable lasers and blu ray and 445 diodes are "hungry" ).

@Leodahsan, jib will design a linear or boost?

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

I am indeed working on one ... but it wont be cheap. All the components for a switching buck/boost circuit are expensive. The switcher chips: TPS63020 is $7.60 each, TPS63000 is $4.50 each. The High Precision Current Shunt Monitor is $3.29. The Inductor is $2. The high power low resistance current setting resistors are $1 each and so are the caps. My out of pocket part cost for each driver is over $17.

Ill be offering a small batch of TPS63000 based drivers fixed at 1.2A(maybe higher) in mid Feb.

yeah but what kind of discount do you get in large quantities?

also, will you be adding reverse polarity protection to this driver?

I don't think that reverse polarity is needed, as it could be mechanical made (like new wish pens: 'C'-like end don't connect with - on AAA cells, only with the + tab).

I would need to buy 1000+ to get any appreciable discount, and Im not going to float 5K worth of parts. :p

In the interest of board space and simplicity it will not have reverse polarity on any of my drivers, its easy to add by putting a diode across the LD+/LD- or the V+/V- pins. [LD-]----|Diode>|----[LD+]

Re: FS: LM1117 Based Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Hello, i would like to reserve a spot for the next batch of these drivers. If possible, can i have my current decreased down to 1.2A please.
Thank you =]

Got you on the list. Ill get you as close as I can to 1.2 with the resistors I buy.

Awesome thanks! =]
Also, what is the soonest you think that you will have these done and ready to ship?

Thanks,
Matt
