Do you think the green modules like this sold on Eekbay by "itemquickship" will handle the voltage of a fully charged (4.2VDC) CR123A 3.6v battery? I asked him that question and here's his reply: "Hi friend, I'm not sure about that. i never tried before. Suggest use 3V. Thank you so much."

I was thinking about putting it into one of Jayrob's polished SS hosts.

I've tried running both a module from a Focalprice 2xAA green laser and a module
from a 2xAAA ebay pen with one Li-Ion, and they both didn't blow up in my face.
I remember the driver heating up more than usual though

So in the end it seems like luck to me and you won't know until you try it out yourself.

If you're worried about damaging the module, you could always add one of those
diodes (I forgot which one, silicon, zener, schottky?) to drop 0.7V. ;)
3.5V should be NO problem for a 3V module.
