Hey guys!!

New around here but lurked for awhile and defiantly did a good amount of reading and searching around before posting this...

but I need some advice..

Ive narrowed it down to (I think lol) the O-like crown 400mW 532nm for $200 or if needed throw down the whopping 4x that amount for the Laserglow Hercules...

My main use for this laser will actually be at the Burning Man festival, I'm looking for something similar to these....

IDK what you might know about burning man, but the MASSIVE amount of dust in the air is great for lasers...

Honestly I could afford either without too much problem, but I dont really me using it all too much other than messing around a little at home and a few festivals each year. Also I dont necessarily need constant duty..

So has anyone used and liked the O-like 400? Would it probably be more appropriate for a newer user, using the laser less?

Ive read many things about treating high powered lasers like a loaded gun.. I plan to be extremely careful with where i'm pointing as well as who is using it. I'm gonna do my best to be responsible, for saftey, and i'd like to not get my laser taken away :tsk:

Thanks for your help

Apples and oranges.

Depends upon what your needs are--the O-Like will have a short duty cycle 3 minutes on and 1 min off or damage can occur + it outputs IR aslo because it has no filter.

The Laserglow Hercules 400mw at 6x the cost is a whole different animal professional quality, made for continuous duty .

An excellent alternative choice at reasonable price with IR filter, continuous duty cycle, excellent host, and professional quality is a JetLasers PL-E 532nm.
See: ?? PL-E v3 Mechanical Switch 400mW, 500mW, 600mW green laser pointers with high stability and longer duty cycle.
While higher powers will be more dramatic even the 300mw unit would be good for your purpose----Jetlasers are always overspec so they will still meet output spec years down the road.

Here is a review by one member who obtained a PL-E 532nm, 600mw that with fresh fully changed abtteries had a 937mw output.

I would say if you want to impress people at a show/want as many people to see the beam as possible and will use proper safelty precautions go for the highest output you can afford comfortably.

LPF member Hakzaw1 has some in stock at LPF prices--maybe PM and see what he can do for you before you decide.

Thanks for your reply!!

Good advice.

I'm maybe also looking at the Aries from laserglow.. As its alot smaller...

Do you think the 225mw Aries would be good in the dust? I like its build and it's a constant duty for only $229

Jetlasers does look good tho. Ill peep around there

Where did you see the Aries-225 for $229? I just it for $689 (currently not available) on LG.

The 20mw is $229 not 225mw which is $689
