Hey guys. Been a while since I've shown off anything. Can't have that!

Marble zasers are half finished.

Mr crouse really outdid himself with these. They left me speechless upon arrival. I carefully removed my new babies and got to work on the violet and red.

I actually got to work and finished all of these plus a 405nm 700mw Dominator as well in the last few hours lol.

Here's some pictures more for proof than pretty :p

That's a bit over 500mw for each. Not trying to shoot for the stars. I want these to have a nice happy life :D

Of course more pictures to come as the rest come together.

Thanks guys. Just couldn't wait to show them off, so I'm cheating lol. Enjoy the ride as I build them in the next little while. I'll be sure to do a little more detail in their construction for the next two because they are going to be the special ones! ;)

Oh you know!

Now for that pesky green!

Little tribute to my last set! Currently has a new home.

Sweet, love that ano on the red and green what are you planning to put inside em. I call for 1W+ 638 and maybe 520 (PLP or NDG) this should be awesome duo.

Re: Four Kings of Stone. Marble Zasers set.

Yeah the red that's in there now was a bit of a dud. 450mw....... Unacceptable! Lol

520 1w is a must.
And the 445nm is for sure a 9mm of course, just need to determine if the big boy, is just overkill. The good ol' 3w I know and love should do fine.

If I could only get angelos to answer me for the 405nm.

They are so convenient to build, swapping diodes is a joke!
So what's in them now can always, and most likely, will be upgraded.

Re: Four Kings of Stone. Marble Zasers set.

You can extract the 3.8mm diode from Pioneer 16x

DTR did some tests, and I gotta say I never thought I'll need another 405 after the 800mW+ i already got.

Strange to hear about the red though, was it the 300mW version?

Nope 500mw. Driven at 850ma set by Dtr. Really bummed that it's this low for these beautiful hosts.

Ouch, with that kind of diode one should have high expectations. I have two M140's in Envies both did a whopping 1.1W and 1.3W at 1.8amps, needless to say the only time they were lazed it was for the lpm!

Re: Four Kings of Stone. Marble Zasers set.

Haha yup. I had the exact same thing with a m140 at 1.8a. = 1.3w..........yahoo!
And today I had a mysterious piece if something totally fry a 9mm diode window.... Ehhh. What luck. Dtr being the awesome guy he is offered to decan it for me. I never even unscrewed the lens until I saw it looking crazy. What can you do. Stuff happens.. It all works out if you keep at it.

I'd like for the guys that are a bit intimidated to build to see this thread.
If a guy like me can build 5 lasers in a couple hours, of varying wavelengths, power, in tremendously different hosts, I know they could.

Re: Four Kings of Stone. Marble Zasers set.

DTR's the man, he's also helping another member who bought a host from me but didnt have the necessary equipment to press the diode in.

This is definitely a great project to take on, building lasers is just as fun as operating them, but only then you can have true fun if you can take pride of your personal builds and only then you are a true hobbyist. looking forward to these beauties.

P.S:Enough Threadjacking from me today.

Re: Four Kings of Stone. Marble Zasers set.

I've been doing so many, buying one host for one wavelength feels incomplete.
I don't want any diode feeling left out! ;)
It has to be a very special host for me to just get one.
This time, it just so happens I had the opportunity to get four very special hosts. I feel very lucky/proud to have these works of art.

TM --- I like those host colors - Super.
I made my mighty 4 but I used spray paint :-(
That wears off.
Here's three of mine - the red wasn't finished yet -------

These are smaller and likely of less power but having a foursome is impressive.
Nice work.........

Re: Four Kings of Stone. Marble Zasers set.

I've had a thing for r, G, B, V sets.
I've done four MS V3's R. G. B. V.
I have four copper pens getting ready for R. G. B. V. Single mode.

I just love the idea of having the basic wavelength all matching.
The zasers is just a step above.
It has been my favorite host since my black Zaser. I had the glory of having the first one built for about an hour, the offroadfreak killed my spot light! Ahhhhhh ;)

I remember those very well Mr hemlock. Still a very nice coat of spray paint. I would have never guessed. They look professionally anodized from the picture.

And a compliment from one of the masters means a great deal to me. All joking and hazing aside, my cowboy buddy :D

Can't wait to really make these special. I just wanted to get SOMETHING in them.
I hope to have all of them around if not a tad bit over 1w.

Re: Four Kings of Stone. Marble Zasers set.

Yah -- They look good in the picture but as the paint
wears off in my pocket --- wellllllll .... maybe a new coat.
The red paint now looks like a dirty red color. Yours will
look great a long time.

Re: Four Kings of Stone. Marble Zasers set.

I've said it before, and deviated, but....... I'll say it again! I don't think I'll be selling these. They are just too pretty. I fell in love with the look, and more importantly performance of the black Zaser I had. When I saw Mrcrouse dangle these in front of everyone, even though they were expensive, the work it took to craft these beauties, was justification enough for me to drop the coin. Plus as hard as it was to sell 4 MS V3's completed for $400! I highly doubt anyone would be willing to pay for All of them as a set, even if I took a hit, as I did with the V3's.

But all that aside, if you had this set, would you sell it? Lol

It may not be everyone's ideal set, but it is mine.

I had been wanting a set of zasers just in the corresponding color/wavelength, but to have them marbled is my personal little dream come true :D

Very happy laser nerd!
