Well last evening me and five of my friends were up on my roof starpointing with our lasers. Together we have 3 hercules 500s an RPL 375, two Rigel yellow lasers and an Aquarius blue 30mW laserpointer. As we were getting ready to come in for the night my friend accidently kicked over the box our lasers were in and they all tumbled off the roof and fell four stories onto the road below. We rushed down and went outside to check what had happened and to our horror they were all broken. Not one would turn on. Seeing that this is over $10,000 of lasers lost we are devastated. I don't know if they are fixable or are a total loss. :yabbmad:

My god that must suck...your friend must feel so ashamed...

Ask some members if they can repair lasers although I don't no anyone who would be able to repair DPSS (green, blue and yellow) lasers. Some people would buy broken lasers but not me...

I have always thought that stupid should hurt. I am sorry that in this case it proved accurate.

I feel your pain. I lost over $5K in lasers, and related parts and equipment, because I made a stupid move that left them vulnerable as well

Peace,
dave

Wow. If you guys had video-recorded that scene, you could post it in the FAIL thread!

..although I know it's really a terrible loss to attempt humor.

Four stories is a bit of a fall.. I don't know if you'll be able to repair them, but i doubt it short of some serious work and expertise.. The yellow and blue pointers could easily be sold to others for the parts, as can the RPL and Hercules..

There are members here who could tell you more about them, but you'll probably have to send them out to them.

This reminds me of the story about the guys who were doing something similar only the dropped theirs off a mountain face while climbing. Does anyone else remember that story.

Man that sucks. If I were you I'd probably be in jail right now because my friend would have went off the roof with them.

That's just funny lol.

Oh yeah, happy birthday hoe!

Quotes from another laser forum:
"I was on my fishing boat on the Gulf of Mexico, I had two of my three 2 lasers with me, a blue and green spyder. I also had a fusion, but it was at home. They were on a table on the front of the boat, then sudenly we ran into some waves, the last thing I saw were the 2 lasers falling overboard! Plop, plop, the spyders dissapearded benath the waves. If this was not bad enough, later that day my brother was playing with my fusion and he tripped and it flew into a mud puddle, he grabbed it and ran home, but he dropped it again and it fell down a sewer! I got home from my fishing trip yesterday and found out I have no lasers left! Thats $6000 WASTED, F*** S*** !! "

"I was camping with my buddys, we were climbing a mountain and the box with all of our laser (3 spyders) opened up and the lasers fell into a crevice in the mountain"

Why do these stories get fabricated?

I can't read any more of these stories... There killing me lol

I agree with Luke-fabrications -So after this sad acccident the OP ran home (in Paris) and joined up at LPF so they can post it and make us all cry for thier stupidity- who would even put that much $ worth of lasers into a damn box -4 stories up and a box of laser when mountain climbing-C'mon-.BTW . I did that exact same thing except my box-o-lasers fell on my collie dog puppy and killed her-- yea--- that my story and I am sticking to it. Who knows why someone would make this up and post it??maybe a laser hater??

After cracking my first HeNe tube back in the 80's I learned to be very careful with these things.

Any mental midget who would put all those lasers into one box, deserves to drop them. (if it even happened, highly doubtful)

Why didn't each owner have his/her own laser in his or her pocket???

We certainly can't offer much in the way of anything helpful without pics of the damaged lasers ...
