This is a thread to help newbies to find some useful things for their lasers
------------------------
Description of some usefull items
+ price for 1piece
+ Where to buy
Air Blower: Helpful for cleaning a lense/keyboard, blows dust away - $5 - here
Balloon: For popping - $1 - here
Batterie tester: Shows you the Voltage of your batteries - $12 - here
Dichro: Lense for combining two wavelengths to one (650nm+532nm=yellow), resulting color depends on the power of the lasers - $30 - here
Diffraction grating: For a wavelength comparison test or for star effects - $10 - here
Digital Multi Meter: A must have for Voltage, Ampere and Ohm tests, also required for some laserpowermeters - $10 - here
First Surface Mirror: For reflecting 100% of the laser beam (normal mirrors reflect about 75-80%) - $7 - here
Glas cube: For optical experiences - $4here
Flash paper: Magican accessoire which go up in flames when ignited - $5 - here
IR filter: Tests how much IR is in your laser - $10 - here
Laserpowermeter: You´re able to test the real laser output, there are some good products around from lasersbee, Kenom and nospin, mine (HLPMII) is able to test lasers form 1-200mW - $60 - here
Lensepen: Usefull for cleaning a lense, I also recommend good bottom swabs - $10 - here
Magnesium: Strong reflector with a high albedo - $1 - here
Matches: For burning experiences - $1 - here
Safety goggles: Make sure to get them for all lasers over 5mW if you want to use them indoor, different laser wavelengths require different filters and glasses, but many of them reach a bigger spectrum and safe you from many wavelengths - You must get the one specified for your laser, otherwise it is totally useless - $30 - here
Smoke Cartidge: produces steam to allow you to make your laserbeam much more visible, also used for testing leaky flats or houses - $1 - here
Tape: For burning - $2 - here
Tripod with Clamp Mount: Holds the laser, alternative is a clothes pin - $5 - here+here
Uranium marble: For fluorescing experiences, especially with 405nm lasers - $5 - here
