It comes with new User Instructions which include an Optical correction
factor chart... The base wavelength we use for calibration is 650nm and
the HLPM II is calibrated against a Newport 1825-C Thermopile LPM..

Is the sensor the same? I would like to know what did you exactly did to the first version in order to be able to handle the extra power and to measure blu-ray too

add tape, it will help., there an nd-filter you can use to reduce the factor by ten. but the % of errors comes with it.

@ Albert.... it is obvious that this 200mW HLPM II does NOT use the same
optical Sensor... even though they look physically similar they do not have
the same electronic or optical characteristics..

Using an ND filter to read higher powers does not increase the % of errors..
it merely reduces the resolution...
For instance.. If you use an ND filter that reduces a laser's power by 50%..
then the resolution would be .2mW instead of .1mW..

And what do you want to do with tape....

A filter with an optical density of .3 only allows half the light in, increasing the range of the sensor to 400mW. An OD of .6 only allows a quarter of the light through increasing the range of the sensor to 800mW.

You can get some inexpensive glass ND filters here on eBay....

Maybe as a deluxe version you could include some of those filters.

Not quite, the dildas have been proven to output more than 200mW so I'm not sure if the HLPMII will be able to take it. I wouldn't risk such nice sensor to measure a dilda.

@ Arenared.... For us to buy and cut ND filters and make a profit
for our extra labor and expenses... would not be worth it for us or
you... you can easily pickup some ND filters on eBay...

If you really need to test Higher Power Lasers and the extra costs
don't frazzle you.... then I would suggest going for a LaserBee I...

Will the sensor be damaged if you attempt to measure above 200mw? I'm not sure about the output of my lasers so getting one of these would be great, but since some may be at or over 200mw, I don't want to end up burning something up

Good question, as some 200mW greenies will peak over 200mW and reds will be ~10% over 200mW as well with 3.6v batteries.
