Just received my new laser.
Bloody chuffed with it.
Lit a red tip match from a distance of 2.5 meters
On the down side if seems to empty the 2 16340 batteries very quick, but hell I don't mind.

Here's an opinion on using a laser to burn stuff. You'll see after a short time the limitations of using a laser to burn stuff.

with using lasers to pop balloons, burn through tape..., it's a neat trick. If one wants to burn stuff using light's energy this is the way to do it. Use a very large Fresnel lens. With such a large lens one can make lava, vaporize or melt metal... . This is the way to burn stuff.

That sure is impressive... but you need the sun to do it :)
I'm just getting into lasers and I am impresses that such a cheap laser is so powerfull. I'm sticking to lasers for now.
I harnessed the power of the sun as a kid with a magnifying glass. The ants were not amused.

Please don't say your using a fire brand. Trustfire, ultrafire, surefire...housefire, carfire....will be likely if you use these brands. Try a brand like Efest. I like them and they'll probably run longer than what you're using.

I am using the batteries I received with the laser. :tsk:
No name, I suspect they are cheap and nasty and will invest in Efest or Olight.

Here is my video, it won't win any Oscars. I just stuck my Xioaomi Yi on my head.
I had already lit about 10 matches prior to this and the battery dropped from 4.25v to around 4.05v at this stage.
It took about a second or so for the match to light. No easy hitting it at such a distance.
When the batteries were 100% full it was much faster and almost instantaneous.

Yes I heard about that too.
That's why I bought the version with a glass lens.

@Vjanda - I bored out my battery tube on my Thor so it would fit some RCR123A batteries. I get about 4 minutes of increased runtime using 650mah RCR123As by Nitecore. They make higher mAh RCR123As but after researching this type of high drain batteries these seem to be super popular in both the flashlight and laser communities. Link below if you are interested in seeing some pictures.

U just received my Efest batteries.
I had to remove the stickers from both sides and they now fit into the Thor Mk2 just fine
