I'm in the market for a used LPM.
I know that there are pretty good models (Laserbee, Kenometer) for around $200 new. But, I really don't want to spend more than $50-$100 or so. I would prefer used and highly scratched up. I don't even need it to be completely accurate (+/- 10mW off is fine) or calibrated recently. I just wanted to get a Laser Power Meter that "works" to around +1Watt.
I know many people have several power mgives me a relatively good idea of power-output, and if someone would be willing to let one go for this price. I would totally appreciate it. :san:
I'll pay for shipping, tracking, your groceries, whatever it takes. :D

just to let you know laser bee has one for around 50$ and you can by a filter to cut the light down by 1/8 the power so you can get much higher readings for very cheap.
just have to do a little math.

I have an older, analog, Scientech 364 with a 4in calorimeter (head), that you could have for $75, plus shipping

Peace,

Buy this and a ND-filter.
Thought about going that route. But, getting a filter, and setting it up with my DMM, jsut seems like too much of a hassle. Kinda' looking for an all-in-one.

I saw you mention this before, but an analog read-out doesn't seem to be what I am looking for (kinda' wanted a digital readout [pics/glasses testing/etc...]). But, if I can't find anything else for around that price. I will absolutely consider it.

LOL! Well you can certainly take pictures of the meter and test anything you want just like a digital. The main difference is that it is a swinging needle rather than LCD digits.

Of course.
But I just feel like a digital read-out would work better for me.
I really don't want to spend $200 on a Laserbee. But, if I must, I will.

I was literally laughing while I was typing that response

I don't have a bit of problem with people wanting something "just because." ;)

Varied tastes are one of the things that drive the free market

Absolutely no problems on this end

Thanks for the info. But if I got that meter and a thermopile head, it looks like I would be spending close to $200. For that amount of money I would prob. get a new LPM with data logging capabilities.
(note: I guess I'm looking for a beat-up and scratched [functioning] Laserbee, sort-of)

maybe ask jerry nicely is he has any cosmetic defective units or partly dead screened units that he would not mind sending out.

PM already sent...

The problem is that we have not yet had one LaserBee product
sent back to the shop as a new product defective return..
We have never needed to replace a LaserBee I or II because
it was received defective... else we would have some supper
deals for 2nd hand products on LPF...

This is what real professional do. Any flaw should immediately be destroyed, and not a fix around with glue

Sorry... we don't sell kits because you need to have a way to calibrate
the LaserBee I or II. And we have never built any dead units.. which is
good for us and bad for you...:D
