I am in the market for a Laser Power Meter.
I know I could get a decent one for about $200, but I didn't want to spend that much on just a meter, when I have access to a LPM at a friend's.
I was thinking about getting the HLPM II 200mW LPM Module
for $54.99 from lasersbee. But, having to do corrections for diff. wavelengths, and having to get a filter to measure >200mW does not sound appealing to me.
Was just trying to find out if anyone had a used LPM they would be willing to sell to me.
I think I will be measuring lasers up to ~500mW, and across all wavelengths. Any advice or offers would be appreciated.
:thanks:

PM Hemlock Mike-- at one time he had a SPER lpm for sale--I have one and works well- but requires - conversion and ND filters to go high--basically the same as Jerrys older sensors+DMM but already ready to use-( the new version from Lasersbee goes higher)-I would save a little more $ and go with a laserbee-- rarely but sometimes sold used by guys getting out of the hobby or in need of fast cash- a sign that they are 'keepers'- and that if you down the road desided to quit lasers you can easily re-sell your LPM and get most of your $ back--Made in Canada and great support from Jerry are a hard combo to beat. $215. USD IIRC

ASH you should jump on that offer-from Dave--his stuff is AWAYS a good deal IMO .
..also I pretty much gave up looking at LPMs on FeeBay-- 99% doa or incomplete-or both. Never trust 'untested' or 'as-is' --most of the time the stuff is junk-

-SPER lpm from AixiZ is 199$ -but its limitations as-is can be a pita. Not so much once you are used to it tho..and it fits in your pocket too. HZ

Thanks for the advice. And, the best part about getting Dave's is that I can pick it up, rather than have it shipped. :p

I have a used Die4Thing that I repackaged into a hand held
eclosureto make it look a bit more professional...
It was originally mounted into a black Radio Shack box with
about a tube of silicone caulking...
(The worst thing you can do to electronics..IMO)....

I cleaned it all off and re wired it with Tactile Buttons....

I just need to add the power connections to power it up
and do final assembled checkout..

[EDIT]...
Damn.... I just read you were close to Dave... a better $$$ deal...

Thanks for the offer Jerry. I would like a "digital" readout rather than the "analog" dial on the Scientech 364. The thing about dave's old meter is it's analog, and from the one picture, I can't even determine the power of the tested laser. In the pic, is it displaying 1.75 watts, or 560mW, or neither? :(
