Hello everyone!

I am looking for a 100mw red pen. Does not have to be focusable. NOT the regular newwish style. If anyone has one to sell, please PM me.

Thanks,
Kilter

This seems to fit your needs It is focusable and o-like has a fairly good reputation. I ordered one, it hasn't arrived yet because their shipping takes forever. Its only $12 so even if it isn't on spec it's still a nice price for the host, since a 5mw newwish pen is only a few bucks cheaper and its a lot nicer looking than a newwish. If your heart set on getting one from a forum member someone must have one. If you're into DIY jayrob sells a very nice pen host. It'll cost you a little more but the workmanship is guaranteed for a lifetime, so long as you assemble it correctly.

Own 2 of those O-like pens and they tested at 125 and 150mw but with a single 10440 215 and 224mw:)
They are heavy and feel nice in the hand.

Another option is ebay from "21buyinhere". The 3 color pack will likely be 50mw 532nm, 80mw 405nm and 110mw 650nm. All of the reds I've gotten from them have been over 100mw. They are not focusable as is.

Nice to know that those lasers are on or overspec Pman. I doubt mine will be any different if both tested quite a bit over-spec, hope I get a 150mw one :D. Does the host take two AAA's and the 10440 is the size of both together or did you rig the 10440 to fit? It says it works at 3v so that would be 2 AAA's. Will running it on a 10440 shorten the lifetime? I don't mean to highjack the forum, but I think you should go for the o-like laser, its only $12 plus $6 shipping, and Pman said he's pleased with it, and even if you may not need focusing now, it can always come in handy.
EDIT: Never mind about the size, I'm almost sure its the size of one AAA, but still interested about the other things.

Safety first! You only have 2 eyes!

I have recommended those O-like for awhile but noone seems to jump on them and I can't figure out why. Nasty little buggers that focus for very little $ = big bargain.
The unit takes 2 AAA which will give about 3.2-3.3 volts when new. Use 2 lithium AAA and the voltage is about 3.5-3.6 when new. Use a single 10440 (same size as a AAA battery) with a spacer (for cheap, can cut a screw or bolt or stack small magnets that you put heat shrink tubing around) volts can be as high as 4.2 on full charge.
What I do with every one of my pens (and I have at least 50 of them at this point) is test output with 2 alkaline AAA and then 2 lithium AAA (batteries all new and voltage tested) to see if there's a significant bump in output as some pens are not regulated. If I get a significant jump in mw then I test with a 10440 and almost every time the output will be from 50-100% more than just using 2 AAA.
As with anything, you would expect to shorten the lifetime but who knows how much. I've yet to kill any of the units I've run this way but I don't use any of them much and keep the duty cycle short on not just my pens but every laser I own.
As always, what you or anyone else decides to do is your/their responsibility. Not interested in getting blamed for others breaking their stuff.

I see in your sig the 650 and a 635 coming. If they both look about the same from O-like, I have a couple of the 635 ones also and they are actually only about 5mw or less so don't expect to use it as anything but a pointer/cat toy. The 635 will look like it has a hint of orange to the red. The 650 will look red and burn big time.

Can i drain the voltage from a AAA battery and use it as a spacer?

Definately not. It will act like a load and try to charge itself.

Thanks for the info. I think I will stick with normal AAA's for now, but I may use Lithium batteries instead. As for the 635nm, I was hoping for it to be 5mw as to be able to use it safely without goggles (even though shining a laser in your eye is never advised). As for safety first, I have a pair of dual wavelength eagle pair goggles I think they work for 405nm, 445nm, and 650-660nm. My PHR-805T just showed up and I'm eager to hook it up to my LM317 driver. As for Kilter, go with the O-like red, links in my signature, since Pman is pleased with it. If you order form O-like, know that their credit card system doesn't work, and you will have to shoot them an email. They respond quick and will send you a paypal request if you tell them what you want. Thanks

Any laser this inexpensive shouldn't be run very long as it's too easy to blow the diodes. Heatsinking isn't the greatest in any cheap unit so a momentary switch will generally keep you more out of trouble.
That's a lot of output if that unit actually does 250mw. You could however buy 3 of the other pens for that price in case you break one:)
Can't remember about the tracking # thing.
